Мы не считаем, сколько потерь мы понесли до начала СВО за долгие восемь лет войны, но с началом операции наш батальон, командование которого точно нельзя упрекнуть в расточительности, потерял двухсотыми тридцать одного человека. Сто пятьдесят один человек в ходе боевых действий получили ранения - многие лишились здоровья безвозвратно и не смогли снова стать в строй. По первоначальному замыслу Восток, интегрированный в ОБТФ, должен был выполнять функции зачистки и идти во втором эшелоне, но с самых первых дней мы оказались на передовых позициях и не покидаем их до сих пор. Мы рубились за Мариуполь, воюем теперь в степях - нам себя упрекнуть не в чем. Но несмотря на потери, несмотря на сложность решаемых задач и героизм наших бойцов - сколько бы мы ни подавали на награждение, а государственные наград на батальон у вышестоящего командования нашлось для нас всего восемь.

Мы не ропшем, и не за награды мы пошли воевать. Высшая наша награда - это Победа. Но когда смотришь на наших ветеранов времён Великой Отечественной - видно, что Родина на наградах не экономила. Солдату важно, что останется после него в наследство его детям и внукам, и когда по каким-то причинам вышестоящее руководство переступает через эту простую истину - непосредственные командиры испытывают затруднения при попытке объяснить солдату такую несправедливость. И эта ситуация не только про Восток - она характерна для всего ОБТФ. Хотелось бы, чтобы заслуги солдат и офицеров были оценены по достоинству.
