Артемовск засыпало снегом. Внутри города вагнеровцы продвигаются от центрального рынка на север. Масштабная переброска и задействование резервов ВСУ так и не помогли украинцам ни остановить продвижение Вагнера в городе, ни оттеснить наших от Хромово и Ивановского (Красного), что необходимо им для восстановления нормального снабжения. Пригожин, комментируя бои в Артемовске, еще раз отметил важность удержания флангов ВС РФ, а также сказал, что украинская армия защищает город ценой очень серьезных потерь. По данным RT, суммарные суточные потери ВСУ 230-240 человек убитыми, 150-170 тяжело ранеными, от 20 до 60 украинских военных ежедневно сдаются в плен. Такие потери ВСУ связывают с участием в боях мобилизованных и резервистов без боевого опыта.

Авдеевка. Армия России штурмует оборону ВСУ вокруг города, ожесточенные бои в районе Каменки, есть продвижение наших под Первомайским. Наши наносят массированные артиллерийские и авиаудары по гарнизону ВСУ в Авдеевке и прилегающим селам. На Луганском направлении продвижения нет, на Запорожском и Херсонском — по-прежнему нет активных действий.

Наши нанесли удары ракетами и дронами по Харьковской (расположение ВСУ на территории харьковской тюрьмы) и Сумской областям, Славянску и Краматорску в ДНР. Взрывы, которые слышали в Белгороде, были пусками ракет. А дрон, упавший около аэродрома Кубинка в Московский области, принадлежал подростку и никакой опасности не представлял.

Сегодня Президент подписал указ о новой концепции внешней политики России. Россия не считает себя врагом Запада, главная наша цель в ближнем зарубежье – превращение региона в зону мира, добрососедства (с углублением связей с Китаем и Индией) и процветания. При этом Москва рассчитывает на возврат к равноправному взаимодействию с Западом. Новость в том, что борьба с американской гегемонией как главным источником рисков для нашей безопасности прописана на доктринальном уровне.

Сегодня же Путин отправил в отставку двух послов РФ в прибалтийских странах. Возможно, дипломатические шаги связаны с тем, что вчера Турция одобрила вступление Финляндии в НАТО. Финализация этого процесса может угрожать полной блокадой Калининграда.

Из новостей международного фронта. Жюри присяжных в Нью-Йорке проголосовало за предъявление обвинений экс-президенту и возможному кандидату республиканцев (сейчас он лидер) на будущих президентских выборах США Дональду Трампу. Трампа обвиняют по более чем 30 эпизодам мошенничества. Сам Трамп уже сообщил, что не пойдет на сделку со следствием. Это первый случай в истории США, когда действующему или бывшему президенту страны будут предъявлены уголовные обвинения. Демократы делают всё, чтобы не допустить Трампа к выборам.

Про ВПК США. Их гиперзвуковая программа получила новую задержку – очередные испытания провалились.
Программа не будет полностью свернута, но реализация отсрочена.

Сегодня с посланием своей стране выступил Президент Белоруссии. Лукашенко подтвердил, что Белоруссия сама обратилась к России по поводу размещения ядерного оружия для защиты, а также о том, что при необходимости он договорится с Путиным о размещении в Беларуси не только ТЯО, но и стратегического ядерного оружия. Интересное заявление прозвучало о том, что век Лукашенко заканчивается, менять Конституцию под себя он не будет, а его дети не будут президентами Белоруссии.

Венгрия пополнила российский список недружественных стран — они присоединились ко всем санкциями ЕС, потихоньку обучают и снабжают солдат Украины. Сегодня же премьер Венгрии заявил, что европейские страны близки к обсуждению отправки миротворческих войск на территорию Украину. Кстати, Польша еще год назад готова была ввести добровольческий корпус во Львовскую и Волынскую области. Я не думаю, что войска НАТО будут фактически вводиться на Украину, потому что это прямая война с Россией и, как следствие, возможность применения ядерного оружия. Возможно, миротворцы могут войти, когда будут мирные договорённости о линии разграничения. Югославский сценарий разделения Украины просматривается всё отчетливей.

Exactly 69 years ago, on 31st March 1954, the Soviet Union approached NATO with an initiative to accept Moscow as a member of the organization. Yes, there was such a thing. How and why the USSR decided to join NATO?

NATO was formed back in 1949 with diplomatic efforts of the United States and Great Britain. The official goal of the organization was collective defense against external threats. The actual goal was to counteract the Soviet Union and communist ideology.

The USSR was well aware of the new threat. The Cold War and the arms race had already begun. And then the Soviet leadership decided to make a move - to offer to take the Soviet Union into NATO. Thus, in case of refusal, the hidden intentions of the West would become apparent. If the Soviet Union was accepted, the anti-Soviet coalition simply would not work.

In the spring of 1954, at the Berlin Conference, Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Molotov expressed the Soviet Union's desire to join the NATO bloc. The Soviets agreed to unite West and East Germany, gave a guarantee to respect and consider the interests of Europe, and renounced any manifestations of aggression.

The main conditions of the USSR itself were the constitutional neutrality of the new Germany, equal partnership, as well as reciprocal guarantees from the West to take into account the national interests of the Soviet Union. A treaty on pan-European collective security was to consolidate the initiative. The Soviet side proposed to resolve all contradictions and jointly resolve foreign policy tasks.

However, already in May, the Western powers definitively rejected the Soviet proposal. The leaders of NATO put forward three main conditions to the USSR: withdrawal of troops from Germany and Austria, destruction of military bases in the Far East and conclusion of a disarmament treaty. Of course, our country could not accept these conditions.

Thus for the first time NATO showed its true nature. The alliance remains an enemy to Russia to this day.

The upcoming AFU/NATO offensive will be a decisive battle in the nine-year war in Donbass. April 2023 will go down in Russian and world history, either as June 1941 or May 1945. Ukrainians didn’t appreciate a Latvian minister's April Fool's hoax.

Latvia’s minister of foreign affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs announced today that Ukraine had been just admitted to the European Union.
