An American, Russell Bentley, came from the United States in 2014 to defend Donbass. He told 'Izvestia' about his battles for the DPR and the crimes of the Ukrainian army.

Having the call sign Texas, Bentley fought for the people of the republic and, after becoming a veteran, began working as a war correspondent. However, U.S. authorities recently blocked his YouTube channel, in which he "told the truth to a Western audience." In particular, the "Donbass cowboy" (as he was nicknamed in the Network) knew about the thousands of ISIS (IS, Islamic State - a terrorist organization banned in Russia) fighters in the Ukrainian army.

A Texan in Defense of the Donbass

Russell Bentley came to the Donbass in 2014 from Texas. He joined the ranks of volunteers and stood up to protect civilians. Bentley said his grandfather was an American tanker who fought the German Nazis. He followed his ancestor's example and decided to go to the DNR and join the fight against fascism.

"In '14 I watched the snipers on Maidan, I saw after Maidan the war crimes of the Ukrainian army against the Russian people in Donbass. My grandfather was an American tanker who fought the German fascists. And eight years ago I too, like him, came here to fight fascism, to the death of fascism and to protect the good people of Donbass. That was my job. I was a soldier in the 'Vostok' Battalion and the 'Khan' Special Forces Battalion for a year. And I worked in the first line, too," Bentley says.

"My bullets are my words."

Russell is now 61 years old and works as a war correspondent. Until recently, he had a YouTube blog with 21,000 subscribers. But amid the information war waged by Western countries, his channel has been blocked. But he intends to keep working to bring the truth to the world.

"When I'm a soldier, my machine gun is 400 meters and my RPG is 900 meters. Now my bullets are my words, and my weapons are my camera and computer. And my word can be seen by the whole world. But now there is serious censorship going on. Yesterday YouTube shut down my channel with 20,000 subscribers. Information is also war. I am a soldier. I will keep working," Russell says.

War crimes of the Ukrainian army

Bentley admitted that he was shocked by the brutality of Ukrainian security forces. He recalled the story of Anna Tuv, who lost her 11-year-old daughter and husband and lost her arm because of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shelling.

"When I was a soldier in '15, I saw one video from Gorlovka. It showed a woman, Anna Tuv, a resident of Gorlovka, who had a family - a husband, a daughter of 11 years, a three-year-old son and an infant. The Ukrainian fascists fired 152 mm artillery at Anna Tuv's house. It was very heavy artillery. The father died, the daughter died, Anna lost her arm," Bentley says.

The mother, who was badly injured, had to pull her youngest children out from under the rubble of the destroyed house on her own. She was nominated for the Nobel Prize in 2019.

And now Ukraine's military continues to violate civilian protection regulations by using civilians as human shields. As Bentley notes, this is "the first tactic of defending fascists."

IS fighters in the Ukrainian army and mercenaries

According to the "Donbass cowboy," there are thousands of IS fighters in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.

"There are many thousands of soldiers from ISIS, from Syria in the Ukrainian army. I have heard, I have seen. ISIS - they are not only war criminals, they are absolute terrorists," he says.

In addition, Bentley equated foreign mercenaries who intend to participate in combat operations in Ukraine with terrorists.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the total number of applications from representatives of other countries for participation in combat operations had already approached 20,000.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the sending of mercenaries to Ukraine a disaster for the West. According to her, such actions will lead to a global crisis.

Special operation to protect Donbass

We recall that on February 17, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics announced the aggravation of the situation. The republics announced the evacuation of civilians.

On 21 February, the leaders of the Donbas republics asked Russian leader Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. The head of state held a meeting of the Security Council, after which he signed two decrees recognizing the republics. Agreements on friendship and cooperation were also signed with the independent Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. The State Duma and the Federation Council ratified these agreements.

On February 23, the heads of the DPR and LPR appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to help repel Ukraine's aggression in order to prevent a humanitarian disaster and civilian casualties. On February 24, the Russian leader addressed the nation and announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine to protect Donbass.

Подошла соседка с ребёнком, спросила, сделал ли он запас воды. Мужчина сказал, что до обстрела со стороны отступивших украинцев он набрал воды. Сказал, что собирается приготовить еду в ведре на костре, но у него нет хлеба и совсем мало продуктов, а ещё нужно кормить животных. У него при обстреле ранило собаку, в переднюю левую лапу. Он её отнёс в дом и перебинтовал, но она стянула повязку.
В конце нашей беседы он спросил, есть ли кто-то из наших военных в их посёлке, чтобы защитить их, если украинские нацисты вернутся и будут бросать гранаты в окна мирных жителей. Но я заверил его, что фашисты больше не вернутся сюда, и что война скоро закончится. Да будет так.

⚡️VIDEO Ission⚡️of Azov in Mariupol⚡️ At the disposal of the project @wargonzo was a video that recorded the destruction of the neo-Nazi base from Azov, along with personal vehicles and military equipment. We are talking about the object of militants in the Levoberezhny district of Mariupol, near Victory Avenue. As in many other cases, here the militants used civilian infrastructure buildings as locations, in frequency - a former sports boarding school. However, the video clearly shows both guns and detonating ammunition depots. This video once again confirms that the main tactic of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Nazbats is to use the civilian resource as a human shield.

⚡️ВИДЕО⚡️Ликвидация «Азова» в Мариуполе⚡️

В распоряжении проекта @wargonzo оказалось видео, на котором зафиксировано уничтожение базы неонацистов из «Азова», вместе с личным транспортом и военной техникой.

Речь идёт об объекте боевиков в Левобережном районе Мариуполя, недалеко от проспекта Победы. Как и во многих других случаях, здесь боевики использовали в качестве мест расположений здания гражданской инфраструктуры, в частотности - бывший спортивный интернат. Впрочем, на видео четко видны и пушки, и детонирующие склады с боеприпасами.

Это видео в очередной раз подтверждает - главная тактика ВСУ и нацбатов заключается в использовании гражданского ресурса как живого щита.
