Ukraine has made civilian bridges fair game. Will Russia finally snap and start destroying Ukrainian bridges over Dnieper?

That river is MASSIVE, and except the Kherson and Zaporizhia bridges, none of them is of much importance to Russia. Crimea is not even seeing much military involvement, but Ukraine's capability to supply its regions will get seriously crippled if those bridges are destroyed.

Well, looking from the moods in Russian Internet, Russian people now see it as fair game and in fact demand a strike on ALL Ukrainian bridges saying that this should have been done long ago. Many call for strikes against other civilian infrastructure (power supply, water supply, roads, airports). Considering the number of Russian missiles spent on destruction of supply depots and other minor military facilities, at least one more big missile strike is not a problem.

Russian people are waiting for Putin’s decision and they are getting angry. It’s in fact the first time we see such number of hawkish statements, usually Russians stay silent about the matter aside for usual internet commenters.

Maybe Russian society is really waking up and getting angry. Better late than never.

There should be no administrative quarters in both Kyiv and Lvov. And not only.
The reaction of the West should not go unanswered. And these are not statements from the Foreign Ministry. Not calling ambassadors. And not loud statements.

Lenin was right: “The war must be waged for real, or it must not be waged at all. There can be no middle ground."
And if someone has not yet understood this, then they should be replaced by those who clearly and clearly understand that the Fatherland is in danger. And the orders of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief must be carried out. Unquestioningly. And definitely.

It is a step in the right direction, but we need some STOMPS in the ukrop direction. Russia still MUST regain the military initiative to stop looking like they are losing. Because to look like they are losing IS losing.

The appointment of General Surovikin as commander of the SMO somehow failed to capture the essence of the event, which was nothing less than the de facto removal of the Chief of the General Staff. At least, he was removed from command of the special operation. Sladkov wondered why there was no post of commander of special operations before, it was so simple - the special operations were commanded by the Chief Operative Directorate of the General Staff, directly controlled by N.G.Sh. i.e. Gerasimov.

And what does it mean to transfer command of the SMO to a specific person, General Surovikin? It means that the General Staff is either completely removed from command of the airborne forces, including in the person of General Gerasimov, or now the General Staff is completely controlled by General Surovikin (this is more probable).

In both situations, Chief of Staff Gerasimov is being "moved" away from direct control of Russia's most important military campaign for a very long time. In essence, it could be called a soft suspension.

Ukrainian terrorists set off an explosion on the Crimean bridge today. Two spans of the road section collapsed into the water, a goods train carrying fuel caught fire, and traffic was blocked. Three people died. The repair time of the damaged parts of the bridge is estimated at 40-50 days. Traffic had already been restored by the evening, both rail and road.

We will not explain again how strategically important the Crimean bridge is. However, it is worth recalling that Medvedev warned back in April that an attack on the bridge would be met with retaliation.
The attack on the bridge is not remarkable - it is just another "red line", crossing which usually turns out to be a flop. Neither the shelling of Russian villages in Belgorod region, nor the supply of long-range weaponry, nor the execution of Russian soldiers, nor the killing of civilians in the suburbs of Moscow - nothing has had the "harsh consequences" threatened by TV pundits, petty politicians and, at times, even the higher circles of Russian power.

And our opponents see the lack of reaction, rubbing their heels and grunting nastily. They think that nothing will happen to them for the bridge. They've gone unpunished before, so they'll be cheeky again and again. If they can get their hands on a weapon of mass destruction, they will take advantage of it (and blame us for it). If they get long-range missiles, they will hit Russian cities. We give Ukrainian terrorist carte blanche to do whatever they want.

The population of our country is also running out of patience. Nobody likes an empty nester. The most dangerous situation for any state comes when the fighting army starts to ask itself why we are fighting. Guys at the front lay down their lives, and in the end, they see their opponents becoming more and more insolent and new attempts to "negotiate". Fermentation in the army is the road to revolution. Russia has already been through such a thing since 1917. It ended with the collapse of the country and ten million dead.

The Crimean bridge, however, has always been a symbol for the Russian Federation. And maybe this time the Ukrainian terrorists have found that red line - for which they will get the full price. The people are waiting, the army is demanding and the Ukrainian state is begging. The time for decision-making is long past - but better late than never.

The army is a rigid structure. In normal times, everyone remembers where the visor is, where you need to put your hand, minting the “Yes!” But under the conditions of the current exam, everyone, including army commanders of various ranks, has intensified their inner work. And who is talking about the chosen places and the achieved position, which you don’t want to lose, who is talking about the result and efficiency. Both those and others each love the Motherland in their own way, each in their own way wish her the best - but the ways and methods are different.

What is happening now in the upper echelons, when two principles have entered into competition, is a very important process, the outcome of which depends on the outcome of the already global confrontation. No one says that the entire old guard should be gathered and shaken hands, wishing them a productive retirement, but a new anti-crisis type of thinking is needed. This applies to all spheres, including the economy. Next year will be difficult - you need to be prepared.

Do I have any complaints about them? Only gratitude! They show us our weaknesses, they teach us to quickly respond to challenges, to fight, in the end ... And most importantly - wow, how they motivate .... The jaws are still playing, and the marks from the nails on the palms have not yet disappeared ...
