Преподаватель русского языка и литературы Галина Викторовна Тарасова рассказала о многолетней дружбе "Техаса" со школой. Людмила Бентли о том как Рассела воспитал его дедушка американский антифашист Чарльз Эверсоул, командир экипажа танка, участник Второй мировой войны.
Станислав Ретинский рассказал о том, как он в составе группы журналистов освещал зачистку нового терминала Донецкого аэропорта в январе 2015 года. Военкоры добирались туда на БТР вместе с первым Главой ДНР Александром Захарченко под шквальным огнем противника. Несмотря на угрозу для жизни, им удалось доехать на броне и запечатлеть исторические события.

Военкоры добирались туда на БТР вместе с первым Главой ДНР Александром Захарченко под шквальным огнем противника. Станислав Ретинский отметил: "Пример Рассела Бентли ярко демонстрирует: выбор 2014 года отстаивали не только сами жители Донбасса, но и те, кто по всему миру считает себя антифашистом. В наш регион, чтобы дать отпор украинскому фашизму, прибыли воины-интернационалисты, в том числе и из Соединенных Штатов Америки – центра мирового империализма. Мы, коммунисты, гордимся тем, что «Техас» был нашим однопартийцем, и приложим максимум усилий для увековечивания памяти о нем. Будущие поколения россиян и американцев непременно будут равняться на таких, как Рассел «Техас» Бентли."

Запрет не распространяется на оф.аккредитованные СМИ.

On January 28, 2026, at School No. 53 in the city of Makeyevka, a screening of the film "Monastery" by Russell Bentley, a U.S. soldier-internationalist (call sign 'Texas'), was held in honor of the significant battle in the history of the Donetsk People's Republic on January 17, 2015.
This film was awarded a Diploma by the regional branch of the All-Russian Movement "Immortal Regiment of Russia" in support of the President of the Russian Federation for the COMMEMORATION OF THE HEROES OF DONBASS at the 'Frontline' Documentary Film and Media Projects Festival in Rostov-on-Don in 2023.

Lyudmila Bentley shared the story of Russell's upbringing by his grandfather, Charles Eversole, an American anti-fascist who served as a tank commander during World War II. His tank was one of the first to cross the Rhine River in Germany.
Stanislav Retinsky shared his experience as a member of a group of journalists who covered the clearance of the new terminal at Donetsk Airport in January 2015. They traveled there on an armored personnel carrier with the first Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, under heavy enemy fire. Despite the danger to their lives, they managed to reach their destination and capture the historic events.

"Russell Bentley's example clearly demonstrates that the choice of 2014 was defended not only by the residents of Donbass themselves, but also by those who consider themselves anti-fascists around the world. Internationalist soldiers, including those from the United States of America, the center of global imperialism, arrived in our region to repel Ukrainian fascism. We, the Communists, are proud that 'Texas' was one of our party members, and we will make every effort to immortalize his memory. Future generations of Russians and Americans will undoubtedly look up to individuals like Russell 'Texas' Bentley".
Lyudmila Bentley, Russell's wife, shared her impressions of the event, stating,
"In addition to telling the story of the most significant battle, the film focuses on the spiritual aspect of our war. This sets it apart from other films. ... I was curious about how the children perceived it. Some of them actually cried, I saw the girls wiped away their tears. Therefore, I believe that today, a kind and good seed was planted in the hearts of the children, which will one day bear fruit".
