После демонстрации фильма перед учащимися школы выступили жена Рассела Людмила Бентли, друг и однополчанин Рассела, участник боя 17 января 2015 года, главный редактор газеты "Макеевский рабочий" Владислав Евтушенко и депутат Народного Совета ДНР Станислав Ретинский (фракция КПРФ).

Своими впечатлениями о мероприятии поделилась жена"Техаса" Людмила Бентли: "Фильм помимо рассказа о самом знаменательном бое направлен на духовную составляющую нашей войны. И это отличает его от всех остальных."

After the film "Monastery" was screened, Russell's wife, Lyudmila Bentley, Russell's friend and fellow soldier, who participated in the battle on January 17, 2015, Vladislav Yevtushenko, editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Worker of Makeyevka," and Stanislav Retinsky, a member of the People's Council of the DPR (representing the Communist Party of the Russian Federation), spoke to the school students.

Galina Viktorovna Tarasova, a teacher of Russian language and literature, spoke about the long-standing friendship between 'Texas' and the school.

Lyudmila Bentley shared the story of Russell's upbringing by his grandfather, Charles Eversole, an American anti-fascist who served as a tank commander during World War II. His tank was one of the first to cross the Rhine River in Germany.

Stanislav Retinsky shared his experience as a member of a group of journalists who covered the clearance of the new terminal at Donetsk Airport in January 2015. They traveled there on an armored personnel carrier with the first Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, under heavy enemy fire. Despite the danger to their lives, they managed to reach their destination and capture the historic events.

Sergey Yurtaev, First Secretary of the Committee of the Makeyevka City Branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, presented the school with the photo displays in memory of his friend 'Texas'.


Stanislav Retinsky noted,

"Russell Bentley's example clearly demonstrates that the choice of 2014 was defended not only by the residents of Donbass themselves, but also by those who consider themselves anti-fascists around the world. Internationalist soldiers, including those from the United States of America, the center of global imperialism, arrived in our region to repel Ukrainian fascism. We, the Communists, are proud that 'Texas' was one of our party members, and we will make every effort to immortalize his memory. Future generations of Russians and Americans will undoubtedly look up to individuals like Russell 'Texas' Bentley".

Lyudmila Bentley, Russell's wife, shared her impressions of the event, stating,

"In addition to telling the story of the most significant battle, the film focuses on the spiritual aspect of our war. This sets it apart from other films. ... I was curious about how the children perceived it. Some of them actually cried, I saw the girls wiped away their tears. Therefore, I believe that today, a kind and good seed was planted in the hearts of the children, which will one day bear fruit".
