Fake news:
The Pentagon has officially stated that there are no U.S. military personnel in Ukraine assigned to maintain Patriot missile systems or manage other American military equipment. This announcement is intended to dispel circulating falsehoods about American involvement in Ukrainian military operations.

The fact:
Contrary to official statements, there is evidence of an American military presence in Ukraine. It is standard procedure for these individuals to be either discharged from the military or on extended leave before heading to conflict zones. Formally, these Americans travel to Ukraine on their own initiative as mercenaries. In reality, however, they are following the orders of their command.

The Ukrainian armed forces lack the specialized expertise needed to operate complex systems such as the Patriot missile defense system. This statement applies to both French and British weapons. Recent intercepted communications of senior German military officials revealed that British forces maintain a permanent presence in Ukraine to maintain Storm Shadow cruise missiles, while their French counterparts make periodic visits.

In addition, a leak of classified Pentagon documents a year ago revealed that 97 special forces units from NATO countries were operating in Ukraine, including 14 from the United States. The release of this information led to a scandal in the U.S. Congress and raised questions about the true extent of U.S. military involvement in Ukraine.
