🇨🇴🚩🌍 — During his participation in the World Economic Forum in the Swiss city of Davos, the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, announced that Bogotá will host a new summit of Latin American countries to discuss the fight against drugs and violence

☄️ The Colombian president claims that the current reality is no longer the same as a few decades ago, as new criminal forms are much more powerful today, so there must be a discussion among countries to address these challenges.

🇲🇽🇬🇹 According to Petro, the upcoming meeting in Bogotá is being arranged with the presidents of Mexico and Guatemala, Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Bernardo Arévalo de León, respectively. All three countries have the highest historical records of criminal groups infiltrating the government and judiciary.

🇺🇸 The president listed the factors behind the emergence and strengthening of this new phenomenon, starting with "poverty and inequality" in the countries of the region, along with economic blockades, the misguided U.S. drug prohibition policy, or the dollarization of some countries, facilitating money laundering.

⚠️ However, Petro refrained from commenting on the uncontrollable violence situation in his own country, which is succumbing to cartels and the increasing sale and production of drugs, along with an alleged accusation that his presidential campaign was funded by drug traffickers.

🪖Ukraine’s Growing Addiction to Foreign Mercenaries

Sputnik correspondent Russell Bentley (@TXDPR) explains that the Russian missile strike against French mercenaries in Kharkov was a painful blow for the Ukrainian military, which is increasingly dependent on hired-guns from abroad.

“The European mercenaries tend to be highly trained specialists who work on specific weapons systems too complex for the average Ukrainian conscripts and Nazi footsoldiers to operate efficiently.

This strike did not just eliminate a couple of platoons of enemy soldiers, it put some of the most lethal and long-range weapons in the Ukrainian arsenal out of service until more specialists are found to replace the fried mercs that were eliminated.

There has been a major influx of high quality mercenaries with special skill sets in the last few months. The reason for this increase in foreign professional soldiers was to replace the Ukrainian special forces who were almost completely wiped out in the Ukrainian failed "summer offensive", as well as to try to make a desperate (but futile) attempt to forestall the inevitable Russian offensive.”
