Andrey Bogdanov, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Russia, has been nominated as a presidential candidate by the Russian Party of Freedom and Justice. He is expected to submit documents for participation tomorrow.

Bogdanov participated in the presidential election in 2008, gaining 1.3% of the vote (that year, Dmitry Medvedev won the election).

"Regarding the capture of Marinka, you need to understand the following.

Firstly, the end was set in the history of this battle. The capture of the city will make it possible to significantly move the Ukrainian artillery several kilometers to the west, which will significantly complicate both the shooting at residential areas of Donetsk and the counter-battery work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction in general.

Secondly, geographically, Marinka lies just above two neighboring villages - Maksimilyanovka and Georgievka. This complicates defense for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and makes further combat work and advancement a little easier for Russian troops.

Thirdly, in addition to the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will spend some time creating new firing positions in Maksimilyanovka and Georgievka, Kurakhovo, the largest outpost of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction, will also enter the destruction zone of Russian artillery more closely. For a long time, the city has served as a cargo hub and a receiving point for a large number of wounded Ukrainian soldiers, but after the capture of Marinka, it will become more difficult for the Ukrainian army to occupy positions there.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to the attack from east to west through Marinka, the front for the Ukrainian Armed Forces also began to shift to the southwest. It will not be easy for Ukrainian troops to stay in this area, taking into account the interrupted supply of foreign weapons. Now, after the start of problems with the shipment of weapons from abroad, the possibilities for full-fledged defense will be significantly reduced.

Bioweapons — the potential Black Swan event of 2024?

Sputnik correspondent Russell Bentley (@TXDPR) warned that one of the greatest dangers in the coming year is Ukraine or one of its Western sponsors attempting a biological weapons attack.

“As Russia makes solid gains in the military and economic arenas, the depletion of Western economic and conventional military power brings up the increasing possibility of the use of unconventional weapons, such as the nuclear, chemical and biological ones that already exist in the hands of those who have used them before. The danger is very real, and the greatest danger of these is the use of biological weapons, not only against the Russian (and allies) population, but also against their agriculture and food security.

Biological weapons against people, livestock and crops have long been in the arsenal of the US hegemon, and like nuclear and chemical weapons, the US has used them, and more than once, before. It is a well known and documented fact that the US operated dozens of laboratories in Ukraine that handled, developed and modified some of the most toxic and deadly substances on the planet. In fact, there is strong evidence that the US continues to do so, and may have already released them.

These biological weapons can wreak havoc on national populations and food security, and have the added bonus of a certain degree of "plausible deniability". And what would be the appropriate response to a biological weapons attack, especially one for which there is no clear and direct evidence? Think about it. Biological weapons have the very real potential to be more destructive than even nuclear weapons, yet can be deployed covertly and deniably, and to which there is really no appropriate symmetrical response.”

When they broke through, knocked the Ukrops out of the building and took up defensive positions, they were faced with reality - no communication, no electronic warfare, no support, no food, water, medicine, no stock of ammunition. There are Ukrop swarms of drones working on us with artillery, mortars, AGS, LNG, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle or an armored personnel carrier. And you stand at the embrasure with an AK and watch, if you see the target, you give a burst. More often it is a drone, a machine gun or a grenade launcher shot. In general, it’s a non-stop fight. Our art helped us. Once we had a connection, we gave them goals. We located the firing point and indicated by the clock the direction from the north and the time of arrival of the sound. For example, "Time 10.30, sound 3 seconds, tank." Sometimes it was successful, sometimes not, but they adjusted the fire. We really needed artillery, we didn’t even get hit, but the fire on us stopped, and there were fewer wounded. Machine guns, mortars, and artillery fire are suppressed. When they broke into the building, they examined it and found some dill supplies: several machine guns, cartridges, shot Javelins, some food, water. Some Canadian snacks, with orange porridge, candy and gingerbread, maybe there was something more substantial, but there was none left. We divided the collected supply - a can of stew, a can of canned fish, a bottle of water for the day among six people. Bread only for the wounded. They also drank water from puddles, collected it, threw in a disinfection tablet, and whoever couldn’t stand it drank.
They strengthened their position. In order to remain alive under the slabs in case of a fall, heaps of bricks and fragments of collapsed walls were hauled up, the embrasures were strengthened - the bricks were crushed and bags filled with them, and windows were blocked. In the room next to the work room, they drilled a hole into the basement for the toilet, so as not to stick out and not take unnecessary risks.
They held the defense. When you stand at the embrasure, explosions are nearby, all the guys are shell-shocked, and more than once. But they learned how to shoot down drones. Everyone knocked down a few pieces the entire time, and Hunt, a handsome guy in general, if he saw it, he took it all off. The area between the forest clearing and the embrasure is completely strewn with the wreckage of downed copters. They even killed one Baba Yaga; she flew in five times a night and dropped mines.
More than a week passed without help. They thought that we had been written off and we would die there, but then the tow truck guys came to us. They brought water and something to eat. Handsome guys! These are the real Heroes! We are in the dugout, and their job is to carry the wounded under fire, food and ammunition here, and from here the wounded. And Sanya’s friend Possum, from St. Petersburg, is generally a legend - in one vest, without an armored vest, he darts between points. The armored jacket cannot be worn, there are intervertebral hernias, and the peacoat is bulky, so he chose the option of working only in a vest in the cold and in the rain. That’s what they call him now, his new call sign is Telnyashka.

Everything stabilized and preparations began for a further assault. Fresh forces began to arrive, contract guys, or more precisely, those who signed a contract in the zone or in prison. But it doesn’t matter, we are mobs, terodorona from St. Petersburg and Komi, and they are all equal here. We rushed here, they are moving on. In general, more people were arriving, another hole was knocked into the basement, one toilet turned out to be not enough. Yes, and they were sent without food. It’s good that the tow trucks brought in an abundance of canned dill and held out.
They were preparing for the assault. The experienced ones did not allow the fat ones to go on the assault (they couldn’t get them out if they were wounded), they were forced to fill their machine gun horns with cartridges, they were prepared with sacks. Thousands of cartridges fly away at such moments.
To suppress the resistance of dill, continuous shooting is needed. Four shooters are ready at each embrasure, one shoots, three behind him. Having released the magazine, he steps aside, the second shooter begins firing at machine gun nests, copters, Ukrop trenches and bunkers. The first shoots the magazine, throws it into a bag with empty horns, grabs the loaded one, fastens it and prepares to shoot. And the loaders bring a new bag of horns and run away the empty ones for charging. The barrel heats up and the wooden linings begin to burn. In the photo is the machine gun of my interlocutor, my friend the Poet. It's called "Carousel". It is arranged during an assault or when the wounded are taken away.
The wounded are a separate issue. This is war. Cruel. With copters, "night lights", "heaters", with kamikazes. Dill has hundreds of drones. They don’t spare two or three drones for one of our soldiers. They even finish off the wounded or hit the dead just to be sure. This is war.
Picking up the wounded is usually a separate operation. They try to pull out, if possible, those who return slightly wounded, try to provide first aid to themselves and get out from under the fire, closer to their trenches. The name is "Veterans, I am 300, help." They help, drag, rescue. The rest are taken away by evacuation groups. Sometimes it’s like this: a group of 4 people went for a heavy one, didn’t get there, all the wounded returned - two heavy ones were pulled out by two light ones.
It's tough, but that's how life is here. Death is walking. Sometimes you manage to get out of her clutches. The neighboring position was formed and the guys were trapped under the slabs. There is only a small hole left in the wall; you can stick your head through. Requested help. They left them a sledgehammer, and they were able to expand the hole from the inside and escape from the grave.
Of course, I would like suppression to work better. From the forward position, we calculated the place from which the drones were flying. Swarms. There is some kind of control center underground, 30-40 drones fly out of the hole per day. We gave this goal to art, but there is no result yet. Didn't hit. Or something more powerful that needs to be thrown there.
That's 23 days. Large-caliber bullets flew into the embrasures and ricocheted off the walls. One young guy’s lower jaw was torn after a ricochet, bandaged, and sent away.
