Andrey Bogdanov, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Russia, has been nominated as a presidential candidate by the Russian Party of Freedom and Justice. He is expected to submit documents for participation tomorrow.

Bogdanov participated in the presidential election in 2008, gaining 1.3% of the vote (that year, Dmitry Medvedev won the election).

"Regarding the capture of Marinka, you need to understand the following.

Firstly, the end was set in the history of this battle. The capture of the city will make it possible to significantly move the Ukrainian artillery several kilometers to the west, which will significantly complicate both the shooting at residential areas of Donetsk and the counter-battery work of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction in general.

Secondly, geographically, Marinka lies just above two neighboring villages - Maksimilyanovka and Georgievka. This complicates defense for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and makes further combat work and advancement a little easier for Russian troops.

Thirdly, in addition to the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will spend some time creating new firing positions in Maksimilyanovka and Georgievka, Kurakhovo, the largest outpost of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this direction, will also enter the destruction zone of Russian artillery more closely. For a long time, the city has served as a cargo hub and a receiving point for a large number of wounded Ukrainian soldiers, but after the capture of Marinka, it will become more difficult for the Ukrainian army to occupy positions there.

It is noteworthy that, in addition to the attack from east to west through Marinka, the front for the Ukrainian Armed Forces also began to shift to the southwest. It will not be easy for Ukrainian troops to stay in this area, taking into account the interrupted supply of foreign weapons. Now, after the start of problems with the shipment of weapons from abroad, the possibilities for full-fledged defense will be significantly reduced.
