This quote is from Pavel Durov speaking at the Digital Bridge 2025 forum in Kazakhstan.

Thanks to Alexey Toropov and Durov’s Shadow, we now have more information about what this new Telegram AI technology could be.

Here’s a simple summary:

Telegram aims to build a decentralized AI network on the TON blockchain would likely use federated learning (FL), distributed inference, and blockchain coordination. In simple terms, billions of devices worldwide (phones, PCs, and servers) could form a global network where AI would train or generate responses without relying on a central server. Telegram wouldn’t need big tech clouds, which might help ensure greater privacy and transparency.

Devices connect through TON’s peer-to-peer network, where volunteers can securely share computing power. Each device will handle small parts of the AI process locally. The blockchain will store essential updates, while TON Storage (a system like BitTorrent) will save larger data. Smart contracts will assign tasks, verify results, and manage token rewards for participants.

TON Proxy may be used, It will allows participants to connect to the network anonymously and interact with it, hiding their real IP address.

Meanwhile, TON DNS could make AI-based services to have human-readable names (for example, my-ai-agent.ton), and the platform could provide a convenient interface similar to regular apps or websites, accessible directly on any device. (TON Sites)

Such a system could be cheaper, private, transparent, and scalable. The Telegram AI laboratory, provided by Alem AI in Kazakhstan, might test, train, and calibrate the base models before the global rollout.
