Lido overtakes MakerDAO and now has the highest TVL in DeFi

🔹 Liquid staking protocol Lido Finance appears to have benefited most from the Ethereum merge in September, with its total value locked (TVL) now sitting at the top position among other decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

🔹 According to data from DeFiLlama, Lido’s liquid staking protoco now commands $5.9 billion in TVL, compared to MakerDAO's $5.89 billion and AAVE’s $3.7 billion.

Aave Deploys Native Stablecoin GHO on Ethereum Testnet

🔹 Aave, one of crypto’s largest decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, has deployed its native stablecoin GHO on Ethereum’s Goerli testnet, Aave Companies, one of the firms that develops the lending protocol, announced Thursday.

🔹 Developers and potential adopters of GHO, pronounced as “go,” can access the stablecoin’s codebase and test how it works before being released to the wider public on the Ethereum blockchain, a press release said.

🔹 Currently, DeFi lender Maker’s DAI is the largest decentralized stablecoin with a $5 billion circulation, while Curve, another top protocol, is inching toward launching its native crvUSD stablecoin.

DeFi Giant MakerDAO Integrates Blockchain Data Provider Chainlink for DAI Stablecoin

🔹 MakerDAO, one of the largest decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, successfully onboarded blockchain data provider Chainlink’s smart contract automation into its Keeper system that maintains the stability of Maker’s DAI stablecoin, Chainlink Labs said Thursday.

🔹 Chainlink Automation will run specific tasks, including price updates and liquidity balancing, to help maintain the stability of Maker’s $5 billion DAI stablecoin.
