Emergency Protest Action: Hands Off Venezuela, Stop The Bombing! 4 January 2026

I got roughed up by the cops and they took away 2 counter-protesters.

I went to where the SBS crew was and a cop told me I can’t be there and had to move. And I said to him so it’s okay for SBS to film but independent media can’t. He said yes, that’s right!

The organiser, Rachael Evens from The Socialist Alliance said that a woman was arrested by the cops for wearing a ‘Globalise the Intifada’ T shirt, then some started chanting it! Then she said if anyone chants ‘Globalise the Intifada’ the police will arrest them! When apparently the law hasn't even passed yet.
