How does the Swing aggregator work?

To demonstrate how the Swing aggregator works, let's go over an example:

Assume the user wants to swap 10 UNI on Ethereum to USDC on Polygon.

1) Swing aggregator will check liquidity pools on Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains, e.g. Polygon, Arbitrum, Avalanche, and BSC.

2) The aggregator will consider not only UNI to USDC pools from various DEXes both on Ethereum and cross-chain blockchains, but it will also include intermediate pools, e.g. UNI to USDT then USDT to USDC.

3) As demonstrated in the figure below, assets are nodes, while the expected returns from liquidity pools are the distance between each asset.

4) To find the best path from UNI to USDC, the aggregation algorithm will divide the input amount through linear interpolation and fetch the price based on these input amounts on both Ethereum and cross-chain blockchains.

5) It will then combine the paths together and output a final price for each chain. After comparing the price across chains, the aggregation algorithm will return the expected return with the recommended chain.

Who keeps the custody of assets while trading?

Swing uses smart contracts to secure transactions. Crypto assets are stored on a contract wallet and can be viewed publicly, and are traceable and irreversible. Non-custodial means only you have access to your crypto assets.
#12

How are the prices of assets determined on Swing?

The Swing protocol navigates multiple liquidity sources per token pair. Every liquidity source has its own algorithm, and Swing will fill the order using the best offers received from liquidity sources like Uniswap, Dfyn, Quickswap, Bancor, Sushiswap, Polkaswap, Kyber Network.
#13

Are there any risks in using Swing?

The Swing protocol smart contracts will be audited, and it is designed with security as its top priority. As a result, the code will be audited twice by professional security firms during our testnet and cross-chain deployment.
#14

Will Swing help in providing liquidity?

We currently do not have plans to operate our own DEX. Liquidity provisions are typically provided to DEXes and not necessarily to an aggregator. Being the Expedia for Crypto is our goal.
#15

What are the current collaborations in place?

We have been fairly selective in our partnership exploration. However, several companies we are collaborating with will help us with the launch of Swing. Currently, we are collaborating with Republic Crypto, Manta Network, Polygon and a few other industry leaders.

With Manta Network, our collaboration allows us to boost liquidity and enable permissionless cross-trading with privacy.

Republic Crypto has served as our advisors to Swing. They have been instrumental in our go-to-market strategies and scaling initiatives.

Polygon - needs no introduction. We have collaborated with Polygon Network to deploy our first liquidity aggregator.
#16

How does the partnership with Republic Crypto look like, and how can they help Swing?

Engaging and working with Republic Crypto was a big win for Swing. The Republic Crypto team works in selective advisory engagements to bring the best crypto projects from seed to liquidity, skipping no steps in between. This will only propel Swing to the next level.

By tapping into Republic Crypto’s deep regulatory experience, vast technical expertise, and extensive network of investors and ecosystem partners, we are confident that we can enhance Swing and fulfil our ultimate ambition of becoming the most trusted and widely-used multi-chain crypto liquidity protocol in the industry.
#17

What chains are currently live on Swing?

Our approach to realizing our vision for true cross-chain swaps will happen in steps as we ship and integrate various blockchains into our platform.

We currently support Polygon, Binance Smart chain, Avalanche, Arbitrum and Ethereum in our liquidity aggregator protocol.
#18

When looking at all the different chains (layer 1, 2 etc.) — How do you evaluate or prioritize which chains to focus on?

We try to keep the process of evaluating and prioritizing chains fairly straightforward. At Swing, we look at blockchains that have a thriving DeFi ecosystem with active AMM DEXes, lending/borrowing protocols, farming initiatives, and high TVL’s across the board.

More importantly, if our community expresses a deep interest in a particular blockchain ecosystem, we will be more likely to integrate this as we move towards a fully decentralized protocol/DAO.
#19

Prior to the rebrand to Swing, there had previously been an alpha testing group. Is this still ongoing, and will it enable a greater whitelist opportunity?

The alpha test group is an ongoing effort where community members help test our product and ensure we ship a solid product. This is a separate effort from the whitelist, which was closed back in March. Alpha test members will be given special access to the public sale for their efforts. We will also have more opportunities for new joiners to participate in the public sale via a future whitelist process.

Does the team have a current roadmap?

The roadmap is currently in the process of being updated, documentation wise there is a lot of information here. It is ideal to start as an introduction to what we are trying to do with the Swing project - documentation.swing.xyz

The project was recently a feature of an article on Yahoo Finance. Is there a link for the article?

As part of the rebrand and the marketing efforts, we were recently featured on Yahoo in an article that can be found here

What were the reasons behind the rebrand and name change?

Swing is a decentralized cross-chain crypto protocol that aggregates liquidity from decentralized exchanges (DEX) and bridges across major blockchains. It powers trading for thousands of popular cryptocurrencies.

Why the new name? The answer is simple. The founder, Viveik Vivekananthan, started with a strong desire to create a cross-chain liquidity solution for projects on the Polkadot and Ethereum ecosystems.

It has since become evident that the value proposition this technology offers to crypto users and the revenue Swing can start generating in the immediate future will grow exponentially if the project can offer cross-chain liquidity capabilities across all major blockchains.

For more information about the rebrand and name change, please have a look at our medium article here

Why is decentralized trading needed in the first place?

Well, for a start, because centralized trading platforms have repeatedly shown that they cannot be trusted. Swing Promises to Capture the Full Potential of Trustless Crypto Trading Broker-dealers regularly provoke the ire of regulators by misleading clients, ignoring market abuse, and even selling order flows to high-frequency trading firms who then front-run trades to shaft regular retail users.

We believe that there’s got to be a better way!

How quickly is Swing growing behind the scenes? What's lined up for 2022?

Swing is growing at a tremendous pace; we started off as crypto-passionate friends from Silicon Valley with a vision to solve cross-chain liquidity for traders. Today, we continue to march forward with a larger vision and team as we tackle one of the biggest problems in space.

Where are we now? Here are some updates:

• Swing closed its $3M seed round with lead investors Arrington Capital and Ascensive Assets.

• We launched our alpha cross-chain trading and bridge product with 1000+ alpha users.

• We aggregated decentralized liquidity across 8+ major blockchains, including Polygon Technology, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Moonbeam Network, Harmony, xDai, Fantom Foundation, and Arbitrum (with many more on the way!)

• We expanded our core team from 3 to 10 members adding key hires for engineering, marketing, product and design
.

• We received a development grant from Polygon Technology to tighten relationships and ecosystem efforts.

The crypto space is now worth over $3 trillion and will continue to grow rapidly. A multi-chain, cross-chain future is inevitable.

If you’re a crypto team interested in partnering with us to leverage Swing’s cross-chain trading & liquidity capabilities, reach out directly.

How will you get adoption in this or a future market?

We have many supporters and influencers around the world that will be spreading the word about Swing when we launch in Q1 2022.

This community is a key part of our adoption too. We will be running an airdrop campaign and providing rewards to incentivize our strongest community members soon! Stay tuned, 2022 will be a big year for Swing!
#27

Why is there a delay in launching the token?

Timing to launch a token is an important one. The team focused on shipping a quality product before putting out a token with no utility.

Please try out app.swing.xyz or DM @randypayne6 if your interested in joining our alpha program to help test and bring a successful product to market together!

Who would keep the assets while trading? Is it non custodial?

It is correct to say that Swing is a non-custodial DeFi trading platform. This means the trading assets always remain in your possession.

You do not hand over assets to us like you would at Binance or other centralized exchanges. We use smart contracts to handle the trades, Swing never takes ownership or possession over your assets

You started 2022 with a bang announcing 3 exciting partnerships, can you tell us a little more about them?

We were delighted to get these over the line, it's just keeps getting better and better for Swing!

🔥The NeonLabs medium article can be found here . This will power cross-chain liquidity between Solana and Ethereum EVM networks! Swing plans to use Neon EVM to enable movement and trading of cross-chain liquidity between major EVM networks and Solana. By integrating Neon EVM, Swing users will be able to tap into decentralized liquidity across top DEXs on Solana including Moraswap, Saber, Raydium, Octaswap, Neonswap, and more.

🔥Next up was integration with Celer Network, that article can be found on Medium here . The integration of Celer’s cBridge represents the third blockchain bridge to be added to the Swing protocol, joining Connext and Hop. Such partnerships have expanded Swing’s reach to encompass dozens of diverse blockchains while strengthening its network of liquidity sources, and adding to its blockchain bridge ecosystem.

🔥 We then announced our integration with Connext Multi-chain Bridge, the article for this can be found here . The Connext network enables developers to build an ecosystem of natively cross-chain applications from simple bridges to more complex DEX aggregators and cross-chain swaps, ideal for Swing’s mission with significant advantages over other interoperable systems.

All in all, an exciting start to the year and we have many more partnerships lined up, as well as our token launch in 2022 💪
