We appreciate your patience during our recent maintenance period, and we are pleased to announce that we are now back online, with the exception of the bridge which is currently undergoing further improvements. The temporary downtime was necessary to implement optimizations to our chain, migration protocols, and tools, as well as address issues with the bridge.

Throughout the rollout, our team observed that the Mainnet had been online for an extended period, leading to a high block height and increased difficulty. In order to address this, we performed a chain reset. You may have noticed disruptions such as RPC downtime and temporary zero balances, but we want to assure you that all coins have been fully restored.

Quality of Life Recommendation

Prior to performing new transactions to Rails Network, it is strongly recommended that you clear your recent activity data in your Meta Mask by following the steps below. This will help to ensure no transactions will get stuck in pending.

Meta Mask > Settings > Advanced > Clear Activity Data Tab

"Clear activity and nonce data
This resets the account's nonce and erases data from the activity tab in your wallet. Only the current account and network will be affected. Your balances and incoming transactions won't change." (MM)

Dear SteamX Family,

Earlier today, a series of sell transactions triggered alerts in our monitoring systems. Upon investigation, we discovered that these sales were not legitimate transactions. As a precautionary measure, we have temporarily taken some of our tools offline while we delve into the issue.

Preliminary findings indicate that our migration protocol was exploited, particularly as the wallets involved were not holders of the BSC token.

Rest assured, your funds remain secure. This is primarily because we opt to only partially fund the bridge with chunks of USDC at a time, anticipating events such as this. Consequently, the attacker is unable to withdraw any of the USDC they sought to exploit.

Once we have patched the migration protocol and are confident that the issue is resolved, we will reverse these transactions and reinstate the USDC into the liquidity pool. We appreciate your patience as we address this matter. We will keep you updated periodically as we progress. Our silence should not be interpreted as a lack of effort; rather, it signifies our dedication to resolving the issue.

Dear SteamX Family,

A few items on our to do list got put to a halt due to the lack of central documentation. We have gone ahead and created a new documentation landing page that will replace both the whitepaper and the Rails Network doc. This doc will also include technical documentation — mostly specific to the Uniswap V2 protocols we use for our swap.

Quality of Life Notes:

- Sometimes when you change networks from the CrossRails drop down menu, the swap will ask you to change the network back to your previously used network. This is because your network cache is not yet written. You can simply reject the request, or change networks again.

- The Use Max button uses a fetch function and is triggered by selecting a token from the drop down menu on CrossRails. Sometimes it returns 0, or it returns the previously selected tokens Max Balance. Simply wait and click the Use Max button again or select the token from the drop down menu again.

What Happened?

Recently, our team identified an unauthorized transaction that caused a significant pump in the price of our coin, increasing it by 110%. This transaction was the result of an attempted attack on our network.

Our Response

We acted swiftly to mitigate the impact and prevent further unauthorized actions. Here are the detailed steps we took:

Stopped the RPC Node: We immediately stopped the RPC node to prevent the attacker from further interacting with the chain, effectively halting any additional unauthorized transactions.

Implemented New Security Protocols: We introduced new security protocols for our Native Coin (STEAMX and WSTEAMX) to enhance protection against similar attacks in the future.

Enhanced Consensus Mechanism: We added an additional layer of protection to our Proof of Work by Authority (PoWbA) consensus mechanism, ensuring stronger safeguards against potential threats.

Strengthened Cross-Chain Protocol: We implemented multiple restrictions on our cross-chain protocol to tighten security and prevent unauthorized cross-chain interactions.

Reversal of Unauthorized Transaction

To ensure the stability and integrity of our ecosystem, we have decided to reverse the unauthorized transaction. This action will reset the price of our coin to its pre-attack level. This step is crucial to:
