警方國安處5月5日持法庭手令於元朗嘉道理中心撿走曾放置於港大的「國殤之柱」，以調查一宗「煽動他人顛覆國家政權罪」案件。
高志活發表聲明回應，他表示無法接受這一行為，形容國殤之柱被撿走是"outrageous"（令人憤怒的）。他指出自己從未被諮詢或通知，也沒有接到任何有關撿走國殤之柱的事先通知。他對國安法下國殤之柱被視為證物感到困惑，認為這不合理。
高志活指出，國殤之柱早在回歸前就被他作為一名丹麥藝術家的個人項目放置在香港。他強調自己從來沒有被煽動，所有費用都是由他自己承擔。此外，他還提到，支聯會除了曾協助他放置國殤之柱外，還有航運公司、起重公司、香港大學等機構曾提供幫助。他甚至提到，有當局曾經給予批准，容許國殤之柱的搬運和擺放。
聲明最後指出，事件顯示了藝術的象徵性力量無可撼動，愈受到攻擊只會變得愈強。六四事件的討論受到前所未有的重視，而港共當局拆除了一枝國殤之柱，卻會被我們用3D打印、AR等技術以一千枝還擊。

//特區高官繼續以行動向國際「說好香港故事」。政務司司長陳國基周一（8日）去信美國《華盛頓郵報》，批評該報社評「抹黑」區議會改革。《華郵》指區選在新制度下大幅削減直選議席，並不是選舉，更絕不民主，是徹底鬧劇。陳國基在信中聲稱，《華郵》社評是「歪曲及揑造事實」，又稱2019年區選有部份支持港獨及反對國安法的區議員當選，而當前年要宣誓時，大批區議員辭職，足以證明他們並「不稱職」。惟事實上，當年大批民主派區議員辭職，是因為政府透過建制傳媒放風，稱一旦宣誓時被DQ，就會追討上任後全部薪津，才觸發辭職潮。
另一份美國大報《華爾街日報》的社評諷刺港府落力對外宣傳香港擁有世界級博物館，但國安警卻偷偷檢走國殤之柱。該報指旅發局推銷香港擁有世界級博物館與藝術場地，但明顯地只能擺放中共准許的藝術品。保安局局長鄧炳強致函該報，指國殤之柱是「證物」，反咬該報稱國殤之柱屬藝術品是「誤導」。//
