Internet service at sprux.cc, Deer Run site, is now faster and better after deploying an upgraded router at the egde. The old hardware was unable to cope with the traffic and service had been degrading over the past month of so.
Also, live service status details will be integrated with the customer service area at portal.sprux.com, as well as a support ticket tracking service.

Internet service disruption at Deer Run in Carson City occurred shortly after midnight and is ongoing. Our upstream provider has confirmed the outage and identified a fault in their infrastructure. Estimated restoration time unknown. Awaiting update from provider.
Internet service has been restored at Deer Run. This was a major outage, lasting 7 hours and entirely out of our control. There will be serious consideration for switching providers at this location.
Charter/Spectrum appears to have blacklisted DNS lookups by many of their customers. We have not received any information or acknowledgment on the situation from Spectrum despite countless phone calls, emails, and even Twitter requests.
The problem is ongoing but in the worst case it will be mitigated with some infrastructure changes on our end tonight after business hours.

Update: Spectrum customers can reach Sprux once again, thanks to great effort from internet plumbers at all involved organizations. We have isolated the problem and implemented a workaround while a permanent solution is tested and deployed. What a wild day it has been!
