This ragni begins with Maa Parvati asking Shiv ji to take her to a mela. They leave together with a bull.
In this part-
Maa Parvati is seated on the bull while Shiv ji walks ahead on foot.
People watch and say -
“पार्वती तै बिठा लेई, शिव पैदल जा रह्या से”
They say
“यो मोड्डा बीर के मोह मह आरया से"
This man is blinded by love.
They mock him for pampering his wife.
They even say :
“इसी के बुआ की बेटी लागे…”
In Haryana, calling someone “बुआ की बेटी” mocks affection as if love is wrong.
Look at how society sees love.
A husband cannot show care in public.
And this is not the only time society judges.

The ragni ends with a truth we still struggle to accept:
“मतना सुणियो चुगलखोरों की”
Don't listen to gossip
If Shiv ji himself cannot escape criticism, what makes us think we can?
Maybe strength is in not reacting.
Maybe strength is knowing opinions are endless
and peace cannot depend on them.

“आगे आगे भोला चाल्या”
And Ahead walks Bhole Nath.
Maybe that’s the real lesson.
Just keep walking.

The symbols of agrarian life persist even when most of us no longer have farms. The ritual has been decontextualized from the field and re-signified as identity, memory, and belonging.
In villages, Holika burns close to the soil.
In cities, it burns close to memory.
