⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚔️ #Donbass offensive: Situation in Eastern Ukraine at the End of 8 September 2022⚡️
▪️ Russian missile forces and artillery struck enemy concentrations in Duvanka and Kostantinovka in the #Chernigov region, as well as Bachevsk, Ulanovo, Bolshoy Prikol and Prokhody in the #Sumy region.
▪️ The Russian Armed Forces carried out several missile strikes against AFU facilities in Kharkov. Artillery duels continue in northern #Kharkov Region.
▪️ In the #Izyum direction, the AFU have attempted to take control of #Kupyansk with key transport hubs on this section of the front:
➖ In the evening it became known that units of the Russian Armed Forces and Rosgvardiya had withdrawn from #Balakleya. They were able to leave the town in an orderly manner through a corridor to the east of the town.
➖ After the capture of #VolokhovYar, part of the AFU grouping blocked the garrison in #Shevchenkovo, while mobile units of the Ukrainian Forces continued to advance towards #Kupyansk.
➖ Later, the enemy forces were divided. Some units of the AFU reached the Kupyansk-Shevchenkovo highway in the direction of #Grushevka.
➖ Another part of the enemy grouping rushed to the east in an attempted to occupy the village of #Senkovo on the right bank of the Oskol River.
➖ In the south, Ukrainian Forces continued their attempts to occupy the traffic junction at #Veseloye.
▪️ Northwest of Slavyansk, the AFU launched an unsuccessful attack on #Kopanki. The Ukrainian command is planning an offensive against the Russian Forces in #Izyum to restrict their actions and prevent them from manoeuvring. Russian artillery and aviation are intensively combing the surrounding forests.
In #Bakhmut (#Artemovsk) direction, there is no change. Both sides are fighting positional battles in the outskirts of #Bakhmut and #Soledar.
▪️ In the #Donetsk direction the Allied forces were able to advance into the suburbs of Donetsk:
➖ DPR People's Militia units occupied the powerful fortress "Big Ant Farm" near #Donetsk airport, from which the AFU had shelled the DPR capital for the past eight years.
➖ East of #Opytnoye, the DPR People's Militia is trying to take over an AFU stronghold on the site of an abandoned missile defence facility.
➖ Fighting continues on the outskirts of #Pervomayskoye. The AFU launched an unsuccessful counterattack on #Peski.
▪️ In the Zaporozhye region, Ukrainian saboteurs attacked the #Energodar administration building with a drone, no one was injured.
▪️ In the #KrivoyRog direction, positional fighting continues in the outskirts of #Olgino and #Arkhangelskoye as well as south of #Vysokopolye.
