"All our artists work in Ukraine. We have eight circus groups, a total of 156 people, about 40% men and 60% women. Eight people are already serving in the army. It would have been possible to submit about 50 people for reservation (dispense from mobilization), but we only applied for 12. Why is this so? There are people who are afraid to go to the military registration and enlistment office because they are immediately handed summonses, we cannot force them. We can’t hire now, because if a person is not registered, we can’t register him. This is a big problem. Lately, if we hire, it’s girls".
In short, you need to go to the military registration office to apply for an exemption, but you are then summoned before you have the chance to apply.

When intercepting AFU radio traffic, our soldiers increasingly hear a request for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to retreat, but the command orders it's soldiers to stand to the end.

Speaking of that, Ukraine also exempted football players from mobilization as "essential crew".
But of course absolutely nothing can be done in a fair way in Ukraine and there always need to be some privilege to the elite. Only five clubs out of the 16 in the top division were exempted. These were the two big dogs Dinamo Kiev and Shakhtar, plus Dnepr-1 and Obolon Kiev. Krivbass Krivoy Rog, currently 2nd in the league, was later added to the list. The other 11 teams can be drafted.
