The German contract with France for the production of 68 thousand 155-mm shells for Ukraine is part of the assistance that the EU can provide to Kyiv next year. Taking into account other calibers and other countries, the total volume of supplies from the EU could reach 500 thousand shells.

Will this be enough, considering what more the US will give? No, according to the results, in the best case, Ukraine will be able to maintain their current average consumption (6-7 thousand per day), but it is very likely that this will not happen, since storage warehouses are practically exhausted, and production rates are far from what is required. By the way, a batch of 68 thousand shells will cost €278 million, that is, more than four thousand for each shot - more than three times more expensive compared to pre-war times.

No one in the EU can admit this now (except for Orban and a couple of other individuals), so the donkeys will continue their race not even for victory, but for “defending Europe from the Muscovite hordes.” The West's main hopes in this case will be related to attempts to destabilize the situation in our country, and here we should expect any possible provocations. Just as we should expect them on the territory of Ukraine itself - another Boeing, Bucha and other fakes will be needed to strengthen discipline in conditions when negotiations with Russia are starting to be talked about out loud more and more often.

How much will this number of shells be enough for Ukraine? There can be no talk of any “attack on Crimea” - for this task they did not have enough of the much larger amount that had already been spent last year and last summer. For defense tasks this may be enough, but here everything depends on us, on our ability to concentrate forces and readiness to do it at the right time. However, NATO is even less ready to admit that the outcome of the war will now be decided in Moscow.
