To reiterate a well-known truism - fighting half-heartedly is detrimental, it will not bring victory and is fraught with casualties. We are eradicating Nazism in Ukraine, but we are doing so without engaging the WHOLE CAPACITY of the RUSSIAN STATE! You can't win half-heartedly.

The night passed relatively quietly. The Russian forces were not yet in a position to assemble a unit here for a counterattack, and the AFU used the time to consolidate the positions they had reached.
By evening, incidentally, they had also reached #Yakovlevka, but were unable to cut off the road from Volokhov Yar to Balakleya.
Today the most important events will probably take place north of #Verbovka. The AFU will try to attack Volokhov Yar, possibly also the area around #Chkalovskoye (although there is a fairly strong Russian fortification there and it will be difficult to take it).
For us, the main thing is to slow down the offensive impulse of the still quite strong enemy grouping and not let them penetrate into important defensive points: Balakleya, the Balakleya-Volokhov Yar route, Volokhov Yar, Chkalovskoye, and to prepare the conditions for a counterattack (as at Davydov Brod).

▪️ The AFU continue their offensive near #Balakleya. Overnight, Ukrainian units advanced from their positions in #Ivanovka and approached the settlement of Volokhov Yar.
▪️ Information on control of Volokhov Yar varies. There is video of Ukrainian fighters at a crossroads in the centre of the village, but other sources claim that the AFU has not consolidated and has moved further north along the road to Kupyansk. In any case, the settlement is not under the control of Russian forces.
▪️ The AFU have not yet entered #Balakleya itself. A photo with a stele at the entrance has appeared online, but it was taken on the westernmost outskirts in front of the Lageri quarter and #Verbovka village.
▪️ Russian forces are carrying out artillery strikes against advancing Ukrainian troops and reserves, and Russian Air Force planes are also taking fire at the targets. The AFU managed to shoot down a Russian Su-25, the pilot bailed out and was evacuated to the rear.
At the moment, #Balakleya remains operationally encircled. The access roads are being shelled by the enemy to varying degrees

▪️ The AFU continue their offensive near #Balakleya. Overnight, Ukrainian units advanced from their positions in #Ivanovka and approached the settlement of Volokhov Yar.
▪️ Information on control of Volokhov Yar varies. There is video of Ukrainian fighters at a crossroads in the centre of the village, but other sources claim that the AFU has not consolidated and has moved further north along the road to Kupyansk. In any case, the settlement is not under the control of Russian forces.
▪️ The AFU have not yet entered #Balakleya itself. A photo with a stele at the entrance has appeared online, but it was taken on the westernmost outskirts in front of the Lageri quarter and #Verbovka village.
▪️ Russian forces are carrying out artillery strikes against advancing Ukrainian troops and reserves, and Russian Air Force planes are also taking fire at the targets. The AFU managed to shoot down a Russian Su-25, the pilot bailed out and was evacuated to the rear.
At the moment, #Balakleya remains operationally encircled. The access roads are being shelled by the enemy to varying degrees

The enemy continues to attempt to establish tight control over the road network north of Balakleya in order to turn its tactical successes into operational ones.
Having achieved initial success with strikes on Verbovka and Volokhov Yar, it will naturally seek to consolidate the results of covering Balakleya from the north and ensure that counter-strikes by the RF Armed Forces are repelled in order to continue to cover Balakleya.
Therefore on the second day of the operation the reserves from Chuguev direction are being engaged
