What the Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved in three months of the offensive:

The initial plan of the Ukrainian army was thwarted almost immediately, and the ground troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to look for workarounds.

When did the attack start?

Ukrainian troops began to strike the main blow in Zaporozhye and in the South-Donetsk direction early in the morning of June 4. The original plan assumed a quick exit to Melitopol and Berdyansk in 72-96 hours, but this did not happen. On the very first day of the offensive in the minefields and from the work of artillery, Ukrainian troops lost several Leopard 2A4 / 2A6 tanks, as well as American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Stryker armored personnel carriers. In the first weeks of the offensive, Ukrainian troops used the tactic of massive rollbacks and threw from one to five battalions into battle, but in 90 days of the offensive, this approach led to losses of 35-50 thousand killed and wounded, as well as to the loss of hundreds of armored vehicles, vital to develop an offensive. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not make long marches - any movement of Ukrainian troops was limited to the transfer of equipment and people within 3-5 km.

Why did this happen?

The heroism and coherence of the actions of the RF Armed Forces became the key reason for the disruption of the offensive. Long before it began, dense mining of all approaches and the creation of engineering barriers were carried out. After the start of the offensive, Russian artillery, aviation and anti-tank systems in the front-line security zone played a significant role in repelling the strike.

Where did the main battles take place?

There were several central battles. In the first weeks, the most severe battles were in the area of Pyatikhatki in Zaporozhye, as well as at Velika Novoselka, in the area of Neskuchnoye, Storozhevoy, and Blagodatny. On average, over 90 days of the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at the cost of huge losses, managed to advance 6-9 km, but further, the offensive began to choke due to high losses and a shortage of equipment. Reserve formations of the Ukrainian army were thrown into the battles - the 82nd ODShbr, 118th OMB, and other formations, but they could not speed up the offensive. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied an area of only 200 square meters. km, which is 0.38% of the area of the Zaporozhye region (almost 30 thousand sq. km) and the area of the DPR (27 thousand sq. km).

At what stage is the attack now?

At the moment, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to break through Rabotino, Verbovoye, and Pyatikhatki in Zaporozhye, as well as regroup to strike through Urozhaynoye in the DPR. In Pyatikhatki and Rabotin, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually running out of steam - an attempt to strike in the direction of Verbovoy indirectly speaks of this, since the tactics of frontal rollovers did not justify themselves. At the same time, the first line of defense, has nott been reached. Ukrainian equipment continues to be blown up by mines, and the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fall under powerful artillery strikes, while progress is either absent at all or limited to advancement in the gray zone.

🇦🇹 🇷🇺 Buying gas from Russia is unpleasant but necessary for Austria - Chancellor

“Priority number one is energy security. If it is violated, the system will be disrupted, production will be disrupted, the supply of energy to people will be disrupted,” Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said in an interview with the ORF television channel.

He said that contracts with Gazprom for the supply of gas to Austria were concluded until 2040, and their unilateral termination would be costly for the country.

"It is unpleasant. It's not morally good, but that's the reality. And that is my duty as Federal Chancellor,” Nehammer added.

A mercenary from Colombia Alejandro Herrera Evia died in the war in Ukraine.

It is reported by El Tiempo.

The publication notes that he was a professional military man and worked in the prosecutor's office and the Technical Investigation Corps.

"In December 2022, he packed his bags and, despite the request of his family, went to Ukraine to join the ranks of military units that help the army of this country," the article says.

As soon as he arrived in Ukraine, he alerted the Colombians who were planning to join the military formations.

"Analyze well, I'm not saying this to confuse you. But because if you come, you need to be psychologically prepared for what you will have to face," he said.

The Colombian was then impressed by the devastation that the war had caused.

The Embassy of Colombia in Poland has already contacted the family to explain the procedure to be followed in such a situation.

They were also told that the process could take up to three months and they could only deliver the ashes.

Herrera left a wife and son with whom he tried to enter the US in 2022. However, they were deported.

The West is putting pressure on the UAE to stop deliveries of dual-use goods to Russia.

According to The Wall Street Journal, officials from the US, UK, and EU will visit the country this week.

The UAE representative assured reporters that he is in close dialogue with international partners, in particular, on the export of dual-use products such as chips, electronic components, etc.

"Officials are asking for help from all countries that are used to circumvent export restrictions and redirect prohibited goods to Russian end consumers," a US State Department spokesman told reporters.

The United States and the EU are concerned that more and more Western-made goods, bypassing sanctions, enter Russia, in particular from the UAE, China, Armenia, and other countries.

Earlier, sanctions officials from the US, Britain, and the EU visited Turkey and Kazakhstan to convince the authorities of these countries to prevent dual-use goods from entering the Russian Federation.

Yakov Kedmi - about the beginning of the Russian offensive: The Ukrainian offensive failed. The Ukrainian army today is trying to reorganize all the units and reserves that have been battered in endless battles. They will probably also try to do something, that is, like in a chess game, they were given the right to start. White starts and loses.
Next is the response. It can start in two days, in three, in a week. That is, when it becomes clear that the Ukrainian army is completely exhausted from some kind of active action, then the Russian army will probably move on to active action. Since the number and quality of troops, their deployment is as follows - and the Russian reserves are not yet involved! The strategic reserves of Russia, according to Western estimates, are there with a little over two hundred thousand people, They are not yet involved, but they were gathered there not only so that they could learn to maneuver back and forth behind the front lines, or sit or lie down. But, if the reserves of one side have already been used, or almost used, then the Russian side, as the president confirmed, in private conversations that were quoted, the Russian side has not yet begun. It will probably start now. Within the next week, two, well, a maximum of three. Depending on what gestures the Ukrainian army will make under the new leadership.

Ukrainian special services carried out a terrorist attack on the residence of the head of the LPR customs committee.

Reports suggest that Kiev-based individuals attempted to harm Yuriy Afanasyevskyy, the head of the LPR customs committee, by detonating an explosive device at his home.

According to Ukrainian media citing sources from the Security Service of Ukraine, Afanasyevskyy sustained shrapnel wounds to his head, neck, and abdomen. Several sources claim that a Ukrainian DRG may have planted the explosive device.

It has been reported by some sources that Afanasyevskyy is currently in intensive care in critical condition. The LPR administration has not yet issued a statement regarding this incident, and Ukrainian officials have also refrained from commenting on the matter.

The elite brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, trained in the FRG, suffers heavy losses even with Western weapons .

"Ukrainian and Western media glorified" the 47th brigade, however, as soon as she led the counteroffensive of Ukrainian forces in the southern direction, she "suffered heavy losses" , numbering in the thousands , writes The Times newspaper.

The reason for this, from the point of view of the publication, is the lack of air support and engineering equipment for mine clearance. As a result, Western “armored vehicles often found themselves immobilized in Russian minefields and then subjected to artillery fire,” the publication clarifies.

Sashakots:

⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ The first British main battle tank Challenger 2 was destroyed in the SMO zone. This vehicle weighs 62.5 tons, which makes it one of the heaviest in its class. The lion's share of the combat mass falls on booking. The tank is protected by Dorchester multi-layered combined armor, information about which is classified. However, she apparently did not help the Challenger burning on the frames in social networks.

The reputation of this tank, as invulnerable, is thoroughly tarnished. They were actively used by the British contingent in Iraq and did not suffer any losses from enemy anti-tank weapons at all. The only burnt "Challenger" was destroyed by "friendly fire". But in the SMO zone, the intensity of hostilities is an order of magnitude higher. The British tanks, which the AFU held in reserve, began to burn in the most logical way. Such an "advertising" of its products is unlikely to please the manufacturer - the giant concern BAE Systems.

Most likely, Kyiv hoped to use the 14 Challengers received from London as sniper tanks. To do this, they have all the introductory - a powerful rifled gun L30A1, excellent optics and suitable ammunition. In addition to BOPS, including those with a depleted uranium core, British tanks use devastating high-explosive armor-piercing HESH shells with a firing range of up to eight kilometers. Their damaging effect is practically independent of distance.

Now, apparently, the Ukrainians threw these tanks into frontal assaults, which may indicate a shortage of heavy armored vehicles in the direction of the main attack. The destroyed Challenger is further proof that superweapons do not exist. And a naive belief in an overseas wunderwaffe is capable of playing a cruel joke on military leaders.
