The story of this chopper is still murky, although, we are almost certain what happened. That's why we didn't hurry to publish it. It's not like it's of strategic importance. But if it's true, then someone in the security apparatus messed up.

Burning British Challenger 2 tank of the 82nd Airborne Division of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction.

We can't identify it for sure. Time will tell. Take it with a grain of salt.

Readers pointed out that it may be a Challenger 2 tank. However, I'm not sure about the veracity of the video. If yes, perfect. If no, one tank less anyway.

Three months later, the Armed Forces of Ukraine resumed full-fledged offensive operations on Novodonetskoye.

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine already made an attempt to take this at the very beginning of their offensive, however, they suffered heavy losses in people and equipment, after which they no longer made new active attempts.

Now the enemy has drawn up additional reserves and, under the cover of artillery fire, was able to overcome minefields and land troops on the outskirts of Novodonetsk and neighboring Novomayorsk, where fighting is now taking place.

The British Challenger 2 update

The first footage of a destroyed British heavy tank from the last reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Zaporozhye front appeared on the network.

Ladies and Gentlemen, with solid certainty,  I can say that we got him. However,  we saw a lot of fakes, that's why we are careful. But, so far everything implies that is really destroyed.

Peaceful areas of Donetsk have been under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the morning - Ukrainians are hitting directly on residential buildings

Kirovsky and Kiev districts of Donetsk have been under shelling since the morning, civilians report that explosions were heard there starting at five in the morning. The consequences are yet to be ascertained when the shelling is over.

The footage shows that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are mercilessly beating right at residential buildings. According to some reports, an elderly woman was injured, and she had to be hospitalized. Most damaged cars and buildings on Tupolev Street in the Kirovsky district.

I can now be pretty certain. If fake, on my soul. But we destroyed him. You can see on the original footage one T 64 and 2 kozacks vehicles as well, which follows AFU tactics and way of use.

About the destruction of the first British Challenger 2 tank, you need to understand the following.

Firstly, as we said earlier, the main problem with these tanks was their number. The vehicles are used to a limited extent and, apparently, as part of mixed armored groups, where each "British" is covered by Soviet T-64BV tanks. The command of the 82nd Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not risk releasing Western vehicles alone, but there is no benefit from cover.

Secondly, Challenger 2 tanks do not demonstrate unique survivability and combat effectiveness on the battlefield. The vehicles burn in the same way as the Leopard 2 tanks. From this, we can conclude that the American M1A1 on the battlefield will face the same fate.

Thirdly, the dispatch of the British tanks of the 82nd Airborne Brigade into battle speaks of the use of all available AFU in this section of the reserves. If British tanks (and Western heavy armored vehicles in general) are destroyed, and the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not bring tangible territorial results (we talked about what the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to achieve in three months), the question of the advisability of foreign supplies of such weapons to Ukraine will inevitably arise.

In addition, it is noteworthy that the tank (as well as escort vehicles) was destroyed by artillery, and not by other tanks in a contact battle. Which once again confirms the fallacy of the choice of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was assumed that this technique would be used as the main means of striking and breaking through the defense, but, apparently, this scheme failed somewhere at the very beginning.

Let's talk about artillery brigades of great power.

Before the start of full-scale hostilities, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had one 45th high-capacity arbitral brigade as part of the Western Military District, which consisted of two 12-gun battalions of 203-mm self-propelled guns 2S7M "Malka" and two battalions of 12 240-mm mortars 2S4 " Tulip" in each. The work of these units could be seen in various directions of the SMO zone from the very first days.

Now, according to the plans of the Ministry of Defense to form five new high-capacity artillery brigades in each district, information has appeared about the deployment of such a brigade at number 17 in the Leningrad Region.

Against the background of the superiority of the 155-mm self-propelled artillery of NATO countries over our 152-mm guns in the firing range, such high-powered brigades with their 207-mm guns with a firing range of about 40 km will be called upon to carry out counter-battery combat, with which everyone is now on the front line, to put it mildly, sad.

Due to the actual failure in the production of the 152-mm self-propelled gun "Koalitsiya-SV", which has a long barrel and a long range of fire, an alternative option was used with the reactivation of the 203-mm "Pions" and "Malok" in storage.

Now, the counter-battery fight fell on the shoulders of the 220 and 300-mm MLRS, as well as the Lancet kamikaze drones. However, the number of MLRS data in the troops is not unlimited, as is the stock of missiles for them. Also, despite a significant increase in the production of "Lancets", they are still not enough everywhere. Powerful 203-mm shells will be able not only to fight NATO artillery in range but also to cause significant damage to enemy fortifications during the offensive, which is what the 240-mm Tulip mines will do.

What the Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved in three months of the offensive:

The initial plan of the Ukrainian army was thwarted almost immediately, and the ground troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had to look for workarounds.

When did the attack start?

Ukrainian troops began to strike the main blow in Zaporozhye and in the South-Donetsk direction early in the morning of June 4. The original plan assumed a quick exit to Melitopol and Berdyansk in 72-96 hours, but this did not happen. On the very first day of the offensive in the minefields and from the work of artillery, Ukrainian troops lost several Leopard 2A4 / 2A6 tanks, as well as American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and Stryker armored personnel carriers. In the first weeks of the offensive, Ukrainian troops used the tactic of massive rollbacks and threw from one to five battalions into battle, but in 90 days of the offensive, this approach led to losses of 35-50 thousand killed and wounded, as well as to the loss of hundreds of armored vehicles, vital to develop an offensive. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not make long marches - any movement of Ukrainian troops was limited to the transfer of equipment and people within 3-5 km.

Why did this happen?

The heroism and coherence of the actions of the RF Armed Forces became the key reason for the disruption of the offensive. Long before it began, dense mining of all approaches and the creation of engineering barriers were carried out. After the start of the offensive, Russian artillery, aviation and anti-tank systems in the front-line security zone played a significant role in repelling the strike.

Where did the main battles take place?

There were several central battles. In the first weeks, the most severe battles were in the area of Pyatikhatki in Zaporozhye, as well as at Velika Novoselka, in the area of Neskuchnoye, Storozhevoy, and Blagodatny. On average, over 90 days of the offensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at the cost of huge losses, managed to advance 6-9 km, but further, the offensive began to choke due to high losses and a shortage of equipment. Reserve formations of the Ukrainian army were thrown into the battles - the 82nd ODShbr, 118th OMB, and other formations, but they could not speed up the offensive. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied an area of only 200 square meters. km, which is 0.38% of the area of the Zaporozhye region (almost 30 thousand sq. km) and the area of the DPR (27 thousand sq. km).

At what stage is the attack now?

At the moment, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to break through Rabotino, Verbovoye, and Pyatikhatki in Zaporozhye, as well as regroup to strike through Urozhaynoye in the DPR. In Pyatikhatki and Rabotin, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are gradually running out of steam - an attempt to strike in the direction of Verbovoy indirectly speaks of this, since the tactics of frontal rollovers did not justify themselves. At the same time, the first line of defense, has nott been reached. Ukrainian equipment continues to be blown up by mines, and the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fall under powerful artillery strikes, while progress is either absent at all or limited to advancement in the gray zone.
