The Estonian Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, is facing a scandal due to her family's business connections in Russia.

The opposition is calling for Kallas' resignation. It has been revealed that Stark Logistics, a transportation company partially owned by Kallas' husband, Arvo Hallik, is still operating in Russia.

Additionally, it has come to light that the prime minister provided a "loan" of 350 thousand euros to her husband's other company, Novaria Consult, which holds a 24.8% stake in Stark Logistics.

This situation contradicts Kaja Kallas' previous statement that all trade and business with Russia should cease during the ongoing Russian special operation in Ukraine.

"What does the frequent occurrence of Ukrainian air raids signify?"

In my view, Russia's Ukrainian air attacks lack a military purpose; instead, they serve as a foundation for the information campaign conducted by Vladimir Zelensky's team within Ukraine.

Broadly speaking, the recent actions of the Kiev authorities amount to public relations efforts preparing for significant internal decisions. Consider the replacement of old military commissars with new ones; will the new individuals be any better? Not even a fraction of an improvement.

Regarding the drone and UAV raids on Russian cities, do they contribute to our military capabilities or image, or are they merely part of an informational backdrop? Clearly, they do not cause any substantial damage to either. These actions are tailored for domestic consumption within Ukraine ("I'm strong, I'm also defeating them!").

Furthermore, the recently enacted law prohibiting the discussion of Ukrainian territories during negotiations is also a message aimed at a segment of the Ukrainian electorate that remains "confident in an eventual victory over Russia".

It is highly probable that Western powers will attempt to stall our defense efforts and provide Volodymyr Zelensky with an opportunity for re-election. Our objectives have been clear for a while: the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, ideally under our continuous preemptive supervision.

The Latvian authorities will not currently deport Russian citizens who do not pass the Latvian language examination.

Latvian Interior Minister Maris Kucinskis announced changes to the law that extend the deadline for passing the exam by two years. He stated that this requirement for Russians had a "political motivation," as reported by Bloomberg.

"We are now rectifying the errors made a year ago," he mentioned during an interview on Latvian television following a government meeting.

I'm curious about the reasons behind this change. Is this a sudden display of compassion? Have they reconsidered their democratic values?
It seems more likely that this decision is tied to the setback in Ukraine's counter-offensive and a strategy to establish rapport with a potential future victor.

On 24 August 2023, Russian airspace control systems detected an aerial target over the waters of the Barents Sea approaching the State border of the Russian Federation.

▫️ A MiG-31 fighter aircraft of the Northern Fleet was scrambled to  identify the aerial target and prevent a violation of the State border of the Russian Federation.

▫️ The Russian fighter jet identified the aerial target as a Norwegian Air Force R-8A Poseidon base patrol aircraft.

▫️ As the Russian fighter approached, a foreign military aircraft made a U-turn away from the State border of the Russian Federation. The State border of the Russian Federation was not intruded.

▫️ The Russian fighter jet made the flight in strict compliance with international rules on the use of airspace over international waters without crossing air routes or coming dangerously close to an aircraft of a foreign State.

I returned from the line of contact, talked with the guys who captured the AFU soldiers in the southern direction. There are noticeable changes: now they often give up even when it is still possible to fight. There has been a change in the psychology of the Ukrainian military, and more and more soldiers really do not want to get into this massacre. The Kiev regime must understand that it will only get worse.

The breaking point came in June/early July, when the Ukrainian military began to realize that this was the end. The Russians didn't run. It looks like the fracture that the German army had at Stalingrad.

A new wave of mobilization in Ukraine is likely to face much greater public opposition. Although they will be able to gain 200-300 thousand in six months, because they raised the age, cancel the previous conditions of deferral and so on. But the quality of this contingent will be very low. The best that they had is now dying on the fields of war.

How will the loss of numerical advantage affect the AFU?
In the most catastrophic way, because we will be able to form strike groups with a preponderance of forces and attack much faster and more effectively. And the fewer AFU soldiers there are at the front, the harder it will be for them to defend.

Right now in the Kupyansk direction, as soon as the AFU soldiers are forced to withstand a barrage of our artillery and aviation for a week, they cease to be combat-ready and give up positions, in fact, without a fight. Western sources also note that every month the Russian army increases by 20 thousand people, minus losses. These are volunteers.

So by winter, the numerical superiority of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may come to naught, and qualitatively this army will degrade further.

Russian Defence Ministry report on the progress of the special military operation (24 August 2023)

▫️Last night, the Russian Armed Forces have launched a long-range sea- and ground-based high-precision group strike against a decision-making centres of the AFU.

▫️The goal of the attack has been reached. The facility has been neutralised.

▫️In Kupyansk direction, Zapad Group of Forces continued successful offensive operations in the assigned areas of responsibility.

▫️As a result, 5 enemy attacks have been repelled close to Novosyolovskoye, Novoegorovka LPR and Sinkovka (Kharkov).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 50 servicemen, 2 IFVs, 3 pickup trucks, and 3 M777 artillery systems.

▫️In Zaporozhye direction, the Russian grouping of troops have repelled, 5 enemy attacks near Rabotino and Uspenovka (Zaporozhye).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 110 servicemen, 4 tanks, 3 AFVs, 4 motor vehicles, 1 Krab self-propelled artillery system, and 4 M777 artillery systems.

▫️In Donetsk direction, units of the Yug Group of Forces repelled 6 attacks by the AFU close to Severnoye, Berestovoye and Nevelskoye DPR.

▫️The enemy losses were up to 125 servicemen, 1 tank, 4 IFVs, 4 motor vehicles, and 1 Msta-B howitzer.

▫️1 ammunition depot has been destroyed near Verkhnekamenskoye DPR.

▫️In South Donetsk direction, Vostok Group of Forces, have repelled 1 enemy attack near Priyutnoye (Zaporozhye).

▫️Units of 37th and 38th brigades of the AFU Marines have been eliminated close to Urozhaynoye and Oktyabr state farm DPR.

▫️The enemy losses were up to 230 servicemen, 2 APCs, 3 motor vehicles, as well as 2 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems.

▫️In Krasny Liman direction, Tsentr Group of Forces repelled 3 enemy attacks near Grigorovka, Torskoye DPR and Chervonaya Dibrova LPR.

▫️The enemy losses were up to 80 servicemen, 3 AFVs, and 2 pickup trucks.

▫️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 30 servicemen, 2 motor vehicles, as well as Msta-B and D-30 howitzers.

▫️The actions of 1 SRG have been suppressed.

▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised manpower and military hardware in 153 areas.

▫️1 control point, one radar station, and two launchers of the S-300PS anti-aircraft missile system have been destroyed near Zeleny Gai (Nikolayev).

▫️4 enemy ammunition depots have been also destroyed near Lvovo (Kherson), Mikhailovka (Kharkov), Iskra (Dnepropetrovsk region), and Krasnogorovka DPR.

▫️Air defence facilities have shot down 4 projectiles launched by HIMARS MLRS.

▫️In addition, 42 UAVs have been destroyed close to Kudryashovka, Lisichansk, Shishkovo LPR, Gorlovka, Nikolskoye, Artyomovsk, Berestovoye, Klyuchevoye DPR, Pologi, Tokmak (Zaporozhye), Dobropolye (Kherson), and Tavolzhanka (Kharkov).
