In 181 days, specialists of the Military Construction Company of the Russian Ministry of Defense erected a modern school for 1100 students in the Nevsky microdistrict for the residents of Marirupol.

"We have actually fully completed the complex of housing construction in the "Nevsky" neighborhood: 1800 apartments. We have built a kindergarten here, and now a school. The deadlines have been compressed to the limit: time dictates them. We need to provide people with comfortable housing and conditions for raising children as soon as possible," said Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov.

The three-story educational institution occupies an area of almost 3 hectares. It houses classrooms, laboratories of physics, biology and physiology, aviation modeling, auto mechanics, labor and cyber sports rooms, there is even a chess club. Around the clock 700 people and 50 units of equipment worked on its creation.

To ensure an accessible environment, the school has five elevators and ramps, a separate gym and special seats in the assembly hall.

Outside there is a football stadium with artificial grass according to UEFA standards, measuring 62x82 meters with five running tracks for 333 meters and a sector for high jumping.

There are a total of 68 classes in the Nevskaya secondary school. The school staff has already been recruited: 116 teachers and staff representatives.

From a shared past to a new future

"Rostec presented at the Army-2023 forum a new SM-100 aircraft engine developed by UDC's Salyut production complex.

The engine is a development of the basic AI-222-25 engine developed by Ukraine's A.G. Ivchenko Progress Design Bureau in the mid-noughties.

The Russian SM-100 provides 20% more thrust than its Ukrainian progenitor, and the engine life has been doubled. This was done by increasing the compression ratio, modernizing the combustion chamber and turbine units, and installing a modern three-stage low-pressure compressor.

It will replace the AI-222-25 installed on the Yak-130 combat trainer aircraft of the Russian Air Force. And Salyut believes that the new engine can be considered as the main engine for light regional and administrative airplanes.

Ukrainian AI-222-25 engines are also used on Chinese Hongdu L-15 combat trainers, developed jointly with the Yakovlev Design Bureau. This means that the improved SM-100 can be installed in the future not only on Russian airplanes, but also offered to our Chinese partners.

The year is only half over, so hitting the target deficit level of 2%, for the entire year, which was announced earlier, will be extremely difficult. However, the government of Russia claims it will witness a surplus in the 4th quarter. Revenues exceeded expenses in the month of May, so this isn't impossible. The monthly deficit spending in January was close to a double-digit percentage of GDP at the beginning of this year.

In 2022, the Russian Federation ran a surplus pretty much until December, as spending was pushed back to the end of the year for various reasons. For 2023, the Russian government is taking the opposite approach, i.e., spending more up front and spending less towards the end of the year to try to achieve fiscal goals.
