Brazil will not attend the summit on Ukraine, which is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.

As we expected, China, Mexico, and other countries from the "global south" have also refused to participate in the negotiations on Ukraine without Russia's involvement.
An advisor to the Brazilian leader, Celso Amorim, pointed out that a previous meeting in Copenhagen failed to reach a consensus on Ukraine because Kiev insisted on discussing only its formula for ending the war.

As of 2022, there are a total of $141 trillion worth of bonds in the world. Half of them are government debt securities.

The volume has grown almost 5 times in 22 years.
Note: and what did we have that happened 22 years ago? Hmmm... maybe one big northern country started to gradually get back on its feet and stopped letting itself be robbed....

On August 3, 1968 the outstanding Soviet military commander twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union and Marshal of Poland Konstantin Konstantinovich Rokossovsky passed away.

Subjected to repressions on the eve of the Great Patriotic War on false accusation, Rokossovsky showed steadfastness and courage, despite beatings and threats of execution. During two years under investigation, he did not incriminate himself or others.

On August 3, 1968 the outstanding Soviet military commander twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal of the Soviet Union and Marshal of Poland Konstantin Konstantinovich Rokossovsky passed away. Subjected to repressions on the eve of the Great Patriotic Warโ€ฆ
Reinstated on the eve of the war, Konstantin Konstantinovich went through it from the first to the last day, participating in all the most important battles: the defense of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk battles. Rokossovsky's unqualified triumph was the operation "Bagration", which defeated the Army Group "Center" of Germany. Until the end of his life, Rokossovsky remained a model of military honor, human decency and exceptional bravery.

Once during the border battles, Rokossovsky's soldiers, reflecting the attack of the Germans, could not withstand the air raid and abandoned their positions. But they did not run far away: behind their trench stood at full height Rokossovsky, watching the battle. Seeing the commander, the ashamed infantrymen returned to their positions and repulsed the attack.

During the anti-Stalin campaign Rokossovsky flatly refused Khrushchev's offer to condemn Stalin and fell into disgrace for this. Shortly before his death, he ran into Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov in the hospital, with whom he had strained relations because of Zhukov's rude manner of communicating with subordinates. Marshals embraced and, touched by the meeting, cried, forgiving each other offenses inflicted ...

Note: Hmm, you know. a thought occurred to me... if Georgy Zhukov is the Russian archetype, and Konstantin Rokossovsky is the archetype of the Pole (not the power, but the people), then perhaps the day will come when Russians and Poles will do the same thing that these two did.

Archangel Spetsnaz:

We clear the forest from the enemy.

According to the classics, fighters are completely unmotivated for active defense. This is not the first time we use one trick, after which they surrender in entire squads.

And please note that the majority go on foot, there are certainly wounded, art training has done its job, but basically everyone is safe.

Airborne soldiers know a lot about persuading the enemy to lay down their arms and leave the senseless slaughter.

We work further.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Orekhovsky area
situation as of 16.00 August 3, 2023

๐Ÿ”ปEarly in the morning, enemy infantry groups under the cover of two forest belts north of Rabotino tried to rush through the minefields, where they were met by marines of the 810 Marine Brigade of the RF Armed Forces . As a result of the ensuing skirmish, the Ukrainian formations retreated.

Otherwise, the situation along the contact line has slightly stabilized. This is due to really large losses in manpower. One of the units of the 47th brigade of the 9th AK of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was withdrawn to Novgorod-Volynsky for restoration.

๐Ÿ”ปAt the same time, the transfer of reinforcements to the forward positions continues. Columns of military equipment were noted near Orekhovo , Malaya Tokmachka , Belogorye and Krasnaya Krinitsa .

Also, closer to the front line in Tavriyskoye and Zheleznyanskoye, self-propelled and howitzer divisions of 116 and 117 mechanized brigades of 10 AK were pulled together. The movement of artillery to the LBS indicates an imminent intensification of hostilities.

The first export effect of Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal was not long in coming. Egypt purchased 300 thousand tons of Russian wheat at a price of $250 per ton (FOB). At that, Russian grain accounted for five out of six batches purchased. The sixth was Romanian grain from Viterra at $249.

The price turned out to be pleasant for everyone. After Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal, quotations rose, and the discount on Russian grain relative to competitors decreased, which cannot but please domestic exporters. The deal also turned out to be favorable for Egypt, as it was possible to buy wheat at the lower end of the market range. For example, prices for French wheat at the tender of the state-owned company GASC started from $270, and for Ukrainian grain from Romania - from $269.

Confidence is waning: The US credit rating has begun its downward march (source: ).

๐Ÿ”น Rating agency Fitch has downgraded the long-term ratings of the US from "AAA," a "premium" rating, to "AA+." The agency's report explains that they expect the budgetary situation to deteriorate over the next three years. Washington has allowed high levels of debt in the public administration sector to persist and grow. There has also been a decline in the quality and standards of governance compared to countries with comparable "AA" and "AAA" ratings over the past two decades. This includes an extremely heightened debate on the public debt ceiling, last-minute decision-making, a lack of medium-term fiscal space, and a complex budget process. Interestingly, Fitch expects a moderate recession in the US economy.

๐Ÿ”น Reading this report reminds us of old, very old, and more recent posts about the crisis of the expert community in the West, the incompetence of managers, and the presence of hardly nominal people in politics.

By the way, the passage about the deterioration of the quality of governance over 20 years implies one extremely unpleasant thing - for these two decades, Washington has been relying on the credit of trust from rating agencies and the fact that the dollar is the world's reserve currency.

The Bank of Great Britain, as expected, raised its key rate to 5.25% today.

It warned that its fight (smile) against inflation may require it to tighten borrowing conditions for an extended period. The current rate level is a 15-year high.

The Bank has cut its growth forecast for the next two years and raised its medium-term inflation forecast, signaling a gloomy backdrop for the next general election due in early 2025.

The Energy Ministry announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will extend the voluntary production cut of one million barrels per day that took effect in July for another month, including September.

And perhaps it will extend it further. And perhaps it will deepen it.

In fact, the Kingdom's production in September 2023 will be about 9 million barrels per day. This cut is in addition to the voluntary cut previously announced by the Kingdom in April 2023, which will last until the end of December 2024.

The rapprochement between Russia and Niger is causing the West to become more dependent on Moscow.

According to Bloomberg, if Niger falls into Russia's sphere of influence, the world will be even more reliant on Moscow for nuclear energy.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are among the world's leading uranium producers, accounting for about half of the world's uranium reserves. If Russia and Niger are included, their combined share would increase to 60 per cent or more.

Moreover, Russia itself possesses uranium deposits and controls almost 50% of the world's uranium enrichment capacity.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ US recognizes Russia as an example

Russia's ability to withstand sanctions imposed by Western countries will be the subject of analysts' scrutiny in the future, the Wall Street Journal reports.

"How Russia managed to avoid collapse and achieve some growth during the year despite an economic blockade by the West will be a case study in the future for analysts pondering when sanctions make sense as a policy tool," the publication says.

Nicholas Mulder, a professor of history at Cornell University, said the West's attempt to impose sanctions on a country as large as Russia could be an instructive example in the long run.

"Russia's sheer size makes it impossible to cut it off from the global economy. It remains a major source of raw materials for developed economies, and for developing countries it is the most important supplier of food and fertilizers," the newspaper quoted Mulder as saying.

Russia has repeatedly said it will cope with the sanctions pressure. Moscow has noted that the West lacks the courage to recognize the failure of sanctions against it.

Note: uh. Americans... there's this.... here's the thing. Your Secretary Blinken was a young man who studied the sanctions war between the US and the West against the USSR.... and yes, he must have known the past experience of sanctions.
