Gennady Cheblatov - collector from Kiev, who lives in the U.S. after the collapse of the Soviet Union - found two medals on Ebay: the medal "For Bravery" and the medal "Suvorov", belonging to the Russian soldier. They were being sold from Ukraine, and the ad stated that the awards had been taken as a trophy in the Soviet Union. Gennady decided to buy the taken awards for $ 600 - the first medal was bought, and the second was overbid at the auction. Eventually the Medal of Honor was returned to its owner, and the fate of the second remains unknown.
Gennady also shared with us why he decided to leave for the States and what, in his opinion, started the current conflict.
