🇷🇺State Duma chairman Volodin proposed to ban the activities of the International Criminal Court in Russia

Volodin proposed drafting amendments to legislation banning any activity of the ICC on Russian territory, as well as providing for responsibility for assisting and supporting the ICC.

📝 "The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation should have the right to take any action to protect our citizens in case international structures make decisions that contradict the norms of the Russian Constitution," said the speaker of the State Duma.

🔹 He noted that back in 2002, a special law on the protection of servicemen was adopted in the US, according to which no American citizen or citizen of an ally country can be arrested or detained by a warrant of the International Criminal Court.

🇦🇹🇷🇺 Austria will arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he decides to come, the country's Foreign Ministry said

📝 "Arrest warrants issued by a court must be executed and the persons wanted by the court must be arrested," the statement reads. It is specified that Austria, as a party to the Rome Statute, is obliged to comply with arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court.

✔️Apparently Austrians, after the ICC's decision, hiccuped with fear, and then they spent several days studying the possibility of Putin's visit to Austria. And when they realized that Vladimir Vladimirovich would not have time to visit in the foreseeable future, they decided to join the European rat pack. Oh, courage!

Financial Times: The recent meeting between Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin was seen by many as strengthening their friendship. The two leaders have an ideological foundation that has gone largely unrecognized by the media. If at one time the Chinese Communist Party was horrified by the collapse of the Soviet Union, it is now taking its cue from Putin, who is re-establishing a neo-imperialist regime. This has led to closer ties, but also to potential risks for China in breaking away from Western trading partners and a return to the centralization of political power. Xi's recent peace offer to Ukraine should be seen as a strategic move, since he is likely to use Ukraine's rejection to justify giving Putin lethal weapons. This would mark Xi's formal break with the West and pave the way for him to focus on Taiwan. While some may caution against following this path, Xi is an ideologue determined to cross the Rubicon.

🇬🇧 🇺🇦 Military assistance to Ukraine has crippled the combat readiness of the British armed forces. "The British army is a shadow of its former self," writes Valeurs actuelles.

📝 "It will take the United Kingdom ten years to replenish its arms stockpiles, depleted by supplies to Ukraine," Tobias Ellwood, head of the House of Commons Defense Committee, said in early March.

📝 "The substantial support provided by London to Kiev was too big a blow to the war machine, which shrank like pebbled leather," the magazine notes.

According to the authors of the article, even NATO is questioning the ability of the British to take over the role of the alliance's rapid reaction force next year instead of the Germans

🇺🇸🇨🇭 Credit Suisse, a 167-year-old Swiss bank, was taken over by rival UBS in a government-brokered takeover after a series of scandals ruined its reputation. After its founding in 1856 by industrialist Alfred Escher, Credit Suisse helped develop Switzerland's currency and power grid, becoming a major bank for the middle class and expanding into Europe and New York. But the bank was accused of blocking Holocaust survivors from accessing family accounts and holding the accounts of Nazi Party officials. It also came under fire for being one of the "gnomes of Zurich" who hid wealth in underground vaults and for its involvement in a $1.3 billion loan scam in Mozambique. In 1978, Credit Suisse partnered with First Boston, an American investment bank, which helped the bank lose its identity as an investment bank. Its high-risk culture was pervasive over the next three decades, leading to recent scandals in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. Critics blame former Chairman Urs Rohner and General Counsel Romeo Cerutti for the bank's decline.

🇩🇪🇬🇧🇺🇦 It is a crime to supply Ukraine with depleted uranium shells — German politician

📝 "Studies show that their use pollutes the environment and causes cancer in civilians and soldiers." "I call on the government to declare a position on this," said Sarah Wagenknecht, an MP from the German Left Party

According to her, a British decision to transfer depleted uranium shells to Kyiv would be a crime. Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Russian radiation, chemical, and biological defense troops, also warned of the grave consequences of such a decision

📝 "The use of uranium munitions will cause irreparable damage to the health of the military and civilian populations of Ukraine, as well as contaminate large areas of crops in the country," he said.

🇷🇺The ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk [these cities were liberated by the Russian army in the early phase of the war] are included in the official register of Russian seaports, the head of Rosmorrechflot said.

Recall that in his message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia would pay special attention to the development of the ports of the Black and Azov Seas, as well as the North-South transport corridor.

📝   "This will open up new routes for business cooperation with India, Iran, Pakistan, and the countries of the Middle East," Putin stressed.

😄 Ukrainian officials doubt the success of their counteroffensive

The mayor of Kupyansk (a city in Kiev-controlled Kharkiv Region), Andrey Besedin, believes that the Armed Forces are not sufficiently prepared for the counterattack. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper El País.

"We are enough for defense, but not necessary for a counteroffensive." "This is my personal opinion," El País quoted Besedin as saying.

🤡 The newspaper also quotes a Ukrainian fighter with the callsign "Arnaut." He complains that the Russian army is better equipped (and has more experience and skills )and demands that the AFU acquire Leopard tanks from Germany.

The Kyiv independent : Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will lobby China to join a so-called "peace club" of nations mediating a negotiated settlement to the war in Ukraine while on a visit to Beijing this week, the Financial Times reported on March 24.

“We are very interested in promoting or helping generate some kind of meeting that would lead to a peace process,” Brazil's foreign minister Mauro Vieira said in an interview to Financial Times.

Lula's visit comes just days after Chinese President Xi Jinping made a much-anticipated visit to Moscow, where he met with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

During the March 20 meeting, Xi called Russia's war "a Ukrainian crisis," adding that Moscow and Beijing "share similar goals."

Russian Armed Forces' strike on a bridge in Makiivka

Footage of a Russian artillery strike on a road bridge over the Zherebets River, which is one of the supply routes for AFU units in Makiivka between Svatovo and Kremenna, has surfaced on the internet.

Coordinates: 49.225249, 37.982044.

During previous attacks, the bridge had already been partially destroyed; movement across it was carried out using the induced crossing. The last hit almost completely destroyed the bridge.
With a swift response, figurative units could restore the structure in a relatively short period of time. However, until then, the AFU will have to use alternative routes that will take longer to travel.

"Man travels to war-torn Ukraine to get his teeth fixed—because it's CHEAPER than a British clinic" : British medicine is so good that it was easier and more profitable to go to Kiev to get his teeth fixed.

"Desperate 58-year-old Richard Howe tried to make an appointment in Ely, Cambridgeshire, but was told that he would have to pay £1,000 for private treatment... so he had his teeth treated in Kiev instead. A man with severe toothache traveled to war-torn Ukraine for help after failing to get treatment through insurance. He had been in agony last month because of an abscess that led to severe toothache. But he couldn't get treatment because of the dental crisis in Britain. "I was in a lot of pain, but I was told there was no chance of getting an appointment," he noted. - But I was immediately able to get an appointment with a doctor in the Ukraine for little money. It's crazy that we invited Ukrainians to take refuge in the UK, but if they have dental problems, there's no chance of getting to a dentist with insurance. "And there, anyone can come in off the street and get treatment right away, and it's a war zone country."

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev spoke in favor of distributing pirated copies of Western films and music from companies that have left Russia: Look for the right pirates (piracy websites) and download from them. I, as a lawyer, used to have a negative attitude towards this and think it was better to overpay, at a time when others said, "What are you paying for?" It's everywhere!  On torrents, trackers, and so on, now I treat it according to the principle of "what we wanted, we got." And let them be underpaid. We recently discussed this topic specifically: that they should be deprived of some of the non-property rights, to put it in legal terms, that they collect here. If they left us all kinds of "Netflixes" and others, then we would download them all and use them for free. I'd scatter it all over the net to cause them (the companies) maximum damage and bankrupt them.

Massive oil and gas deposits discovered in North Africa

Two large oil and gas basins have been discovered between Libya and Tunisia, Afrigate News reported earlier this week, citing the report by the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The first giant deposit extends along the eastern Tunisian coast with a smaller part located on-shore and the rest embedded off the coast. It runs from the shores of the city of Bizerte and the Gulf of Tunis, through to the city of Misrata.

Another field was discovered in Libya’s Gulf of Sidra off the coast of Sirte, according to the USGS report.

In its first assessment, the US government agency said that the findings in the African countries contain a total of 4 trillion barrels of oil and 385 billion cubic feet of natural gas, which is the equivalent of 1.47 trillion barrels of liquefied natural gas.

According to preliminary estimates, Libya’s oil and gas reserves could double as a result of the discovery, while Tunisia could become a major North African energy producer.

In 2021, Libya was the seventh-largest OPEC crude oil producer and the third-largest in Africa, after Nigeria and Algeria, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). Libya holds 3% of the world’s proven oil reserves and 39% of Africa’s proven reserves.

Meanwhile, the EIA estimates Tunisia’s formations hold 23 trillion cubic feet of proven shale gas reserves and 1.5 billion barrels of technically recoverable shale oil resources.

🤡 "Not too generous": the Polish prime minister accuses Germany of not supporting Ukraine enough.

Germany has not provided enough support for Ukraine, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told POLITICO in an interview Friday, lashing out at Berlin while Europe looks for ways to continue arming Kiev.

Among his suggestions: NATO allies should dramatically increase their spending to 3 percent of economic output, the EU should explore new debt facilities for defense purposes, and countries should accelerate efforts to repurpose frozen Russian assets for military action.

🇺🇦 🛢️Ukraine wants to double tariffs for transporting oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Eastern Europe through its territory starting April 1, according to Kommersant.

According to Kommersant, Ukraine says that the possible increase in tariffs is due to the cost of restoring the ruined oil transportation infrastructure. At the same time, the Ukrainian side will have to coordinate the increase in the transit rate with Hungary and Slovakia.
