The evacuation of residents from the city of Kherson, controlled by Kyiv, has begun, the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine reported on its Facebook page (banned in the Russian Federation; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

Swapping out a howitzer’s barrel, which can be 20 feet long and weigh thousands of pounds, is beyond the capability of soldiers in the field and has become a priority for the Pentagon’s European Command, which has set up a repair facility in Poland.
