There will be no more evasive maneuvers and withdrawals (except in case they wipe us out, which is unlikely). So, we are going to give battle. What I don't know is whether are we going to attack first or let them. In my opinion, is better to let them attack first, spend themselves on our defense then counter. Time will tell. In anticipation of a sharp escalation of the Kosovo conflict, Serbia seems to be preparing for the worst-case scenario. It is not so much about the fines for the Serbian car number plates, which the Kosovo Albanian authorities are not going to abolish - it is still the echo of the Yugoslav tragedy, the very open wound in the Balkans that is still haunting the country after decades.

The conflict in Yugoslavia that began in the 1990s led to the disintegration of the country, thousands of refugees, and the formation of new states on the ruins of the fallen Balkan empire: not only Croatia and Bosnia but also the "people's republics" on their lands - the Republic of Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Serbian Krajina in Croatia - have been added to the political map. The Belgrade government supported the republics, which was the starting point for further conflict.

The Serbs lost that war - national humiliation awaited the people, and politicians faced an international court. And yet every time the question arises: how was it even possible?

The fact is that victories are won by the army and the pursuit of political phantoms leads first to a dead end and then to the abyss of defeat. The Serbian government, by trying to play negotiate with Western organizations, completely lost the initiative and was defeated, some in the grave, others in the dock - by trying to negotiate with Milosevic and company only paved the way to The Hague.
