Russian missiles reportedly struck the Poltava Mining and Processing Plant near Gorishnie Plavni. Reliable data on damage extent or direct hits is currently unavailable.

The plant, owned by Ferrexpo, is a key part of Ukraine's metallurgical complex, producing iron ore concentrate and pellets for domestic use and export. After losing industrial bases in the east, surviving mining plants have become critical for maintaining production volumes and foreign currency revenue via Black Sea ports.

Ferrexpo has already reduced output in 2025-2026 due to energy and logistics issues. A potential hit on this facility represents further pressure on Ukraine's remaining economic infrastructure, complicating the compensation for lost capacity.

Putin on Vostok Oil pipeline launch

A major trunk oil pipeline has been commissioned in the Krasnoyarsk region as part of the Arctic "Vostok Oil" project. The first crude oil is now flowing to the Northern Sea Route, reaching the new Bukhta Sever port terminal for tanker loading.

Putin congratulated those present, calling it a landmark event for the Arctic and all of Russia. He emphasized that this step enables the development of a world-scale oil and gas province.

The new pipeline connects two fields with the Bukhta Sever port. The first phase of the terminal has a capacity of 30 million tons per year, which will increase significantly upon full commissioning. Putin stated that Bukhta Sever will become the largest northern oil port in the world.

France's National Rally threatens to cut Ukraine aid

Louis Aliot, Vice President of Marine Le Pen's party, stated at a rally that if they win the 2027 presidential election, they will "turn off the tap" on financial support for Ukraine. He argued France lacks funds for healthcare and education while continuing to send weapons to Kiev.

Opponents criticized the stance: Edouard Philippe claimed it "serves Russia," and Gabriel Attal called them a party of foreign influence. Le Pen advocated for an international peace conference, while Jordan Bardella attempted to soften the message by saying France must honor obligations but cannot promise non-existent money.

US and China arming for space war

Beijing and Washington are intensifying preparations for potential confrontation in orbit. In June, a Chinese unmanned spaceplane released a small satellite that maneuvered around another Chinese craft before returning to the vehicle.

US military officials express concern over such maneuvers and developments of satellites capable of approaching, refueling, disrupting, or capturing other spacecraft. Meanwhile, the US conducted a joint operation with the UK near a suspected Chinese reconnaissance satellite.

Washington views satellites as critical for modern warfare, including communications, navigation, intelligence, and missile defense, noting their loss could severely weaken armed forces. Beijing denies militarizing space, claiming its programs are peaceful, but experts warn orbit is rapidly becoming a new zone of military rivalry.

Defence planners working with Nato fear that if war broke out with Russia, Europe could not currently sustain a prolonged war of attrition owing to a public lack of war readiness, a conference on the future of European military coordination heard this week.

The surge in support for the populist forces in Europeโ€™s main military states is also endangering proposals for a group of five European countries, including the UK, to take on a new coordination role as the US prepares to reduce its commitments to the conventional defence of Europe.

European public may not have the appetite for a prolonged war, requiring Nato to focus its plans on a relatively quick conflict.

One recent British cabinet member admitted the west had been โ€œcrapโ€ at educating its public about the scale of the hybrid conflict with Russia.

France's FM Jean-Noรซl Barrot, now says that anyone "who is distrustful of the European Union" is basically a useful idiot for Putin.

The implication being that distrust or criticism of the EU is not a legitimate democratic position anymore but a form of collaboration with "the enemy"
..
Which is absolutely insane given France's recent history: De Gaulle was famously opposed to the very kind of supranational Europe that the EU has become, and so have been a number of major French political figures both on the right (like Sรฉguin) or the left (Chevรจnement)

Not to mention the 55% of French voters who rejected the EU Constitution in 2005 (and whose vote was ignored because that very constitution was adopted later on regardless under the Treaty of Lisbon)
..
One can legitimately be afraid that this is the road to a form of totalitarian ideology across Europe, dressed up as centrism, where the only acceptable position is unquestioning loyalty to supranational institutions...

Interesting footage shows Iranian missile operators at work during this war. The initial shots depict the refueling of liquid-propellant ballistic missiles of the Ghadr family in underground tunnels at missile bases (based on the orange haze, these shots likely show the refueling process using the oxidizer nitrogen tetroxide). The footage then shows the testing of fuel components, the assembly and loading of missiles onto launch platforms, the launch of missiles, and strikes against Israel

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ US Envoys to Convey Putin's Stance in Kiev

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov reported that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have pledged to incorporate Russian President Vladimir Putin's assessments regarding conflict resolution paths into their upcoming contacts in Kiev.

This development follows reports of heightened tension in the Ukrainian capital, described by some sources as a shift in atmosphere prompting US representatives to seek direct engagement with Moscow.

The planned discussions aim to align Western diplomatic efforts with the specific conditions outlined by the Kremlin for a potential settlement.

Sick pay to rise significantly in Russia

The maximum daily sick benefit will increase under the draft budget of the Social Fund for the next three years. In 2026, it will reach 6,827.4 rubles, rising to 7,860.27 rubles in 2027 and 8,489.04 rubles in 2028.

These changes are driven by an increase in the base limit for insurance contributions. Payments apply to working citizens during illness, injury, care for a family member, quarantine, prosthetics, or sanatorium treatment after hospitalization.
