🇺🇸 'Hellish sanctions' against Russia may fail in Congress - Politico

The House of Representatives is unlikely to support Lindsey Graham's bill on new tough sanctions against the Russian Federation. Democrats actively oppose the initiative, and there is no particular enthusiasm among Republicans.

Party leadership did not include the bill in the list of initiatives for a vote this week. "No one is talking about it," said Virginia Foxx, Chair of the Rules Committee.

Speaker Mike Johnson also did not confirm that the document would be considered, limiting himself to the answer: "We'll see." The package continues to be insisted upon mainly by Republican hawks, while for party leadership before the elections it does not seem to be a priority.
