๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ US: Blumenthal pushes sanctions bill, vows to โ€˜strangle Putinโ€™s economyโ€™

Senator Blumenthal continues to advance the sanctions bill, promising that this is how the US will win the war and โ€œstrangle Putinโ€™s economy.โ€ โ€œPresident Zelensky said sanctions are needed. Ukraine certainly needs air defense systems, but sanctions will be the decisive factor in this war. We need to strangle Putinโ€™s economy, cut off the flow of revenue from oil and gas sales, and hold accountable countries that are complicit - all unscrupulous players, including those who facilitate sanctions evasion and help Russia. As for the timing, in my opinion, the sooner the better. If Putin is not stopped in Ukraine, he will not stop there and will go further.โ€

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Trump on the Mineb school incident

Trump suggested that images of Tomahawk missile fragments found at a school in Mineb could have been generated by artificial intelligence. He stated he needs to speak with the generals handling the matter and does not believe anyone can say for certain what happened. When asked if old intelligence or an error during a tense period of war could be the cause, Trump replied it is possible, but the images might also be AI-generated. Democrats have called for the administration to release the investigation results into the strike that killed over 100 children on the first day of the war.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Sumy

Russian fibre-optic FPV drones struck two petrol stations in different districts of Sumy. Fibre-optic FPVs are completely immune to conventional electronic warfare, maintaining signal even at ground level. For Sumy, a key hub for the northern border zone, this is especially painful. Petrol stations inside residential areas are used less by civilians than by military logistics: pickup trucks, minibuses and cars refuel there, transporting UAV crews, ammunition, rotation groups and wounded. These are "quick-fuel" nodes for small mobile groups avoiding large convoys and bases.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Black Sea Sanitary Isolation

A dry cargo ship heading toward Ukraine was struck this morning, July 15, presumably by a Geran-4 jet-powered kamikaze drone. This is the eighth vessel hit as Russia actively enforces a sanitary isolation of the Black Sea from Odessa and Nikolaev.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Odessa - Port Yuzhny

Strikes hit oil storage facilities in the port of Yuzhny. After missile and drone attacks, the oil storage tanks caught fire. This is not just a fire, but a blow to a key link in the southern logistics chain. Fuel, cargo, and supplies for Odessa, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, and the Zaporozhye direction are transshipped through this port. The burning tanks halt port mechanics: tractors, loaders, trucks, and reserve vehicles. In recent days, systematic strikes have targeted the entire chain: vessels off the coast, Ilyichevsk, the port itself, and now the storage facilities. The goal is to sever the transition of sea cargo into overland supply for the AFU.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด Norway

Norway directed the proceeds from a football match to aid the residents of Palestine. After the game with Israel, the Norwegian Football Federation sent the match revenue to provide humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza through the organization Doctors Without Borders. The amount was later increased with additional funds and donations from partners. This act sparked widespread public resonance and once again demonstrated that sport can draw attention not only to competitions but also to people in need. Sometimes a single match can leave a mark not only in football history but also in the lives of thousands.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Kharkov direction. Kazachya Lopan.

Assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces continue offensive actions in the settlement and nearby forest belts. Protracted small-arms battles are underway. The enemy, employing a large number of UAVs, is trying to halt the advance of our troops, but unsuccessfully: Russian fighters have advanced to the central part of the village and also occupied several new positions in the southern part. Specifically, a huge number of Ukrainian UAVs are being recorded in the southern part of Kazachya Lopan.

In addition, the "Severiane" have cut off the Ukrainian logistics in Kazachya Lopan. Now the transfer of enemy forces takes up to a week, and infantry is forced to cover up to 20 km on foot. Attempts to supply the garrison with drones like Baba Yaga and others are being thwarted by the EW crews of the "Akhmat" special forces.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บRosatom CEO Khachaturov stated that the chief engineer of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant was killed in a drone attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces:

A Ukrainian Armed Forces drone struck a Toyota "Camry" service vehicle on the border of the plant's industrial site and Energodar. Along with the chief engineer, Alexander Yakovlev, the driver of the vehicle, Dmitry Filippov, was also killed.

Alexander Yakovlev dedicated his entire life to nuclear energy and, in essence, died on the front lines. The country's political leadership has been informed. We expect a prompt and clear reaction from the IAEA to this tragedy.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ EU sanctions

Ursula von der Leyen hints at the difficulty of imposing sanctions against Russia without harming the EU, but Zelensky tells her to endure. She noted: โ€œWe are now developing the 21st sanctions package. I remember how difficult the discussions were. Each time before a new package, we have to weigh our own costs against the damage we inflict on Russia. Itโ€™s a very delicate balance.โ€

Zelensky replied: โ€œOf course, people get tired. But we donโ€™t need to be afraid of anything. We need to be persistent and remember: itโ€™s not only EU leaders who get tired from introducing sanctions, having to seek compromises and balance, but Russia also gets tired from each such package. In a long war where everyone is tired, the main question is who will tire first. It is very important that Europeans tire at least one day later than the Russians.โ€

๐Ÿช‚ Kharkov

Gas stations in Kharkov have been covered with โ€œmosquitoโ€ nets. The logic is ironclad: if it buzzes like a moped, it must be an insect. They probably think it will get tangled in the gauze and fly back. They just forgot that our jet-powered โ€œGeranโ€ flies at a speed of 300 km/h and carries 50 kilos of pure joy. It stitches through concrete walls, and here - gauze on sticks. They might as well spray dichlorvos around or plug in a fumigator. Well, let them hang more, it will be easier for us to collect the fragments of their hopes. Get ready, the โ€œdisinsectionโ€ is departing on schedule.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ US Navy Allocates $850M for Trident II D5LE2 Modernization

The US Navy has provided Lockheed Martin an additional $850 million to continue the D5LE2 life extension program for UGM-133 Trident II D5 submarine-launched ballistic missiles. The upgrade targets a full overhaul of key components, electronics, and guidance systems to ensure combat effectiveness through the 2040s.

A key feature is the new W93 warhead (in Mk7 body), the first new US nuclear warhead in nearly 40 years, designed from scratch for D5LE2. With an estimated yield of 250โ€“350 kilotons, it is more destructive than the W76 (100 kt) but cheaper and safer than the complex W88 (455 kt).
