If we look at industrial production, China is the world's factory. Therefore, to be successful there, you need to be super-competitive. That's why we have transferred some of our R&D, development, and supply chain resources to China. We have also moved some resources to the US, as that market is developing in the same direction. So yes, the world has changed. It's no longer just a global world, but a world in which champions are emerging - in China, in the US, and perhaps to some extent in India. We need to adapt to these changes and invest proactively.

It's foolish to think that we will ever have a completely European software ecosystem, completely European PCs, graphics processors, and so on. The reality is that the world is extremely interdependent - and that's a good thing, as long as we depend on each other. We need each other, and we need to cooperate and find ways to work together.

NATO countries are against it: Ukraine's accession to the alliance is not on the agenda, says Rutte.
