America has strangled and subverted democracies, and tampered and interfered with elections all around the world. For decades, the USA has toppled governments, assassinated elected officials, bribed and bullied and bulldozed democracies on every continent.

The American elite doesn't trust the population of any country to elect leaders who will safeguard US interests. They rig elections and install whomever they want in country after country - Do you think they won't do that at home?

Every US election cycle, billions of dollars in campaign contributions are funnelled into the "campaign industrial complex" - a publicly funded wealth transfer to unproductive PR and media firms run primarily by children of the political elite.

Kamala Harris wasn't nominated through a vote. Her Presidential victory, if it ever happens, will be succession, not election. There were no primaries. She didn't have to outline her policy platform. Nobody needed or wanted her to do any of that - all she had to do is NOT be Donald Trump.

This is the logic of demonization versus policy debate as a campaign strategy. No candidate has to win your approval when the whole election is framed as a "lesser of two evils".

Americans asking themselves which candidate is best might as well be asking which Marvel Comics superhero is better than the other, because we aren't talking about people with any real significance or who actually exert any control over anything.

If you are anxiously waiting for the results of the election, then you are literally like someone watching those old Road Runner cartoons, getting worried about whether or not the coyote is going to catch him.

The current US President, the one literally disintegrating before our eyes, the very fact that he not only became President and was absolutely going to run for another term - that should tell you power does not reside in that office. Harris and Trump are not leaders, they are just mascots representing two different factions of the US oligarchy. Regular US citizens aren't writing this story or controlling how it goes. They are just spectators.

The US military industrial complex receives trillions of dollars to maintain the proxy wars against rivals to US hegemony, and most recently to support genocide in Gaza. That's their policy. Their policy is genocide, militarism and fascism. And they do it for the money. They contribute evenly to the Democrats and the Republicans and receive astronomical returns. These are the entities which control US policy, it's not the ballot, it's their money and the industry of war and death.

The main part of the show has begun - the recount. That's how Biden beat Trump's comfortable lead four years ago:

"We just got word from the city of Milwaukee. They're saying, according to election officials, that they're going to have to rerun about 30,000 absentee ballots through the counting machines. Because they found out that the doors of one of the counting machines were open, it wasn't closed properly, and they want to be absolutely sure that the machine counted everything correctly. So they're re-running 30,000 ballots. That's important because it's going to mean it's going to take longer to count those absentee ballots. So we may have to wait."

And, to add insult to injury (forgive my turn of phrase), do not expect any changes to the US policy vis-a-vis the war in Ukraine. Not going to happen, regardless (or because of) the president-elect.

Russia just has to win. Everything else is a side-show.
