Consultations between the two countries have now reached their final stages.

Once a final agreement is reached, the joint Iran-Oman memorandum of understanding on establishing a temporary safe passage for shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be formally registered with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) within the coming days.
