Repairing each station, would take between six and eighteen months. To successfully carry out this operation, Iran and Yemen would each need between 12 and 16 short-range ballistic missiles. When four consecutive stations fail, the cumulative pressure drop along that section of the pipeline exceeds the pressure at the source, and there is insufficient force to move the oil, causing the flow to stop.

The combination of determination and the identification of key strategic targets, coupled with the precision of short-range ballistic missiles, can transform a conflict over infrastructure into a playing field, and even a winning strategy, for Iran, rather than the opposite.
