About a month after the fact, new information has surfaced regarding Pakistanโs military deployment to Saudi Arabia in April.
According to Reuters sources, roughly 8,000 Pakistani troops were sent, along with 16 JF-17 fighter jets and at least one HQ-9 air defense system.
The equipment is reportedly maintained by Pakistani military personnel, with Saudi Arabia covering the costs. This arrangement reflects a long-standing pattern of defense cooperation in which Islamabad provides military support services to Riyadh.
The deployed forces are expected to assist and strengthen the Saudi military, particularly in case of renewed threats or attacks.
Sources also indicate that the Pakistani contingentโs primary role will be focused on training and advisory support rather than direct combat operations.
