Yesterday, around 2:00 PM, Hezbollah launched an explosive-laden drone towards a force from the 12th Battalion of the Golani Brigade, which was operating in the village of Deir Siryan near Taybeh in southern Lebanon.

The drone hit the force, resulting in the death of the captain and the slight injury of another soldier.

Hezbollah also launched explosive drones and mortar shells yesterday towards the force, which was effectively under fire for many hours.

The incident occurred one day after Hezbollah fired mortar shells at the same Golani Brigade force, which was operating in the same village, in an incident in which an Israeli soldier was killed.

🇮🇱 — The huge explosion that shook the Beit Shemesh area near occupied Jerusalem on Saturday evening raised a wide wave of questions and doubts within the occupation entity, after a large fireball was seen in the sky and the sound of the explosion was heard in wide areas, amid the absence of any prior warning to residents or immediate clarifications from official authorities.

While the state-owned security company "Tomer" rushed to claim that what happened was a "pre-planned test" carried out according to schedule,
Maariv writer Ben Caspit considered that executing an explosion of this magnitude at night and without any prior warning to the residents reflects "amazing negligence" or an attempt to hide something, noting that Israeli military industry companies usually issue prior warnings before conducting similar tests, especially when they have a widespread impact.

Ben Caspit added that what happened "does not look like a regular test," questioning the reason behind the absence of any visible preparations by the police or firefighting teams, at a time when social media networks were filled with clips documenting the fireball and the violent explosion.

For his part, the military affairs correspondent for "Kan" channel, Itay Blumenthal, pointed out that "Tomer" company insists that this is a successful and pre-planned test, despite not providing any clear explanation for the size of the fireball that appeared in the sky. He stressed that there is currently no independent way to verify the nature of what actually happened inside the testing area.

As for "i24 channel" correspondent, Avishai Grinzaig, he called for treating the official narrative with caution and skepticism, saying that the lack of accurate information makes it difficult to accept the claim that what happened was a "controlled" explosion.
