Beijing slams new US sanctions against Russia

The sweeping legislation envisions secondary restrictions on the largest buyers of Russian crude oil and natural gas.

US President Donald Trump signed the sweeping legislation on Friday. Among other measures, the bill authorizes secondary sanctions against the five largest buyers of Russian crude oil and natural gas. It does not explicitly name major importers such as China or India.

Beijing strongly condemned the measure, with a Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson saying the country has “always opposed unilateral sanctions that lack the mandate of the UN,” as well as “the imposition of so-called secondary sanctions.”

Translation: "We aren't going to do shit about anything any time soon."

The Iranian Parliament has been shuttered by the Reform Dictatorship for seven months, with speaker Ghalibaf effectively ruling the country according to the dictates of corrupt oligarchs like Syed Hussein Mar'ashi.

As such Pezeshkian doesn't represent the will of the people of Iran.

Further, all agreements with foreign powers must be approved by the Majlis and the Leadership, according to Article 77 of the Iranian Constitution.

With the Majlis deliberately prevented from reopening, any agreements will not be worth the paper it is written on.
