If Silver rises to meet the current mining ratio of 7:1 then Silver will take the top spot from gold as largest asset by market cap.

It seems counterintuitive because Silver is still cheap rn; but there are good arguments to be made that above ground Silver is as rare if not more rare than gold.

Silver has broken above $72 the same day it broke through $71... that's a steady and average increase of 1.5% per day during the past month.

Also gold got rejected at $4,500 multiple times today before finally breaking above that round-ish number.

All this and the retail crowd has yet to enter the market... just consider how many normies you've tried to talk to about Silver who didn't and still don't get it... it'll probably take $88 or $100 Silver before they finally pay attention and start Stacking.

Clive Thompson,  on one of his walks in Crans-Montana Switzerland,  explains the recent price arbitrage between Shanghai Silver spot price and the LBMA/Comex Silver spot price.

TL;DR  China needs physical Silver to manufacture stuff to sell back to the West;  but they are a net importer of Silver and most other commodities,  so they typically pay a premium above Western spot price in order to attract shipments of physical Silver to keep their industry going.

The real wildcard is whether the significant rise in price arbitrage between east and west is caused by a true physical shortage,  or if it is strategic hoarding by various nation-states using intermediaries to disguise their activity.
