BTC vs a BTC ETF?

BTC vs BTC ETF? Hi all, I wanted to come here to the community to ask which would be better for a family member to put money into. The person being a not so savvy investor looking at building for their retirement, and “setting it and forgetting it” for 20+ years. They’re leaning toward an ETF because they feel more secure there. I wanted to ask here to see if there’s anything I might be missing when explaining it to them. What are the downsides to BTC directly for this type of person versus a BTC ETF? Thank you in advance, it’s appreciated. submitted by /u/Bigringcycling

understanding conversion?

i bought 150 of some coin at 59 cents. currents its down 4 cents and ive lost $5 in response. this is way more of a change than i was expecting even in the positive region. i was assuming either way it would be pennies and dimes. I,e. if the coin goes up to 1 dollar i would now have 150$ from my 90ish invested. but this is seemingly way more influential. am i missing something? 4 cents downs and i lost 5 bucks? but if it went to 80c would i be up 40ish dollars..? im sorry if this is confusing im a little tipsy but am trying to figure out my finances a little more. any input would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/RealSkylitPanda

Where exactly is all our wallet info stored?

When we look at individual cryptos, the crypto itself is stored on the network. Your private key is your ownership and access to the crypto which is stored with you, and links to the public key stored on the network. Makes sense. But how does this work with wallets and seeds? How does a certain set of words allow me to pull up my multicoin wallet with several different cryptos? Where is this information stored? How is it possible that I can use this same seed with another wallet provider and still pull up my wallet with my coins (as long as the coins are supported)? What network is this information being stored on? submitted by /u/government--agent
