🇺🇸 U.S. Navy Completes Blackbeard Hypersonic Missile Test
The U.S. Navy successfully conducted a developmental flight test of the Blackbeard, an air-launched hypersonic missile by Castelion, aboard an F/A-18E/F Super Hornet at NAS Patuxent River. This marks progress toward Early Operational Capability.
Two test articles were carried, but no missiles were released. All returned safely. The weapon aims to provide carrier fighters with a high-speed, long-range strike option to penetrate contested anti-access/area-denial environments.
Blackbeard offers a low-cost hypersonic capability for mass production. In September, the Navy awarded a production order worth up to $200 million to support initial manufacturing of these affordable long-range weapons.

🇹🇷🇸🇦 Turkey to Deploy Troops and Air Defence Systems to Saudi Arabia
Turkey is deploying extra troops, air defence systems, aircraft, and technical teams to Saudi Arabia under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement. This aims to protect critical infrastructure, Riyadh, Mecca, and Medina.
Ankara’s role focuses on defensive operations against missiles and drones from Yemen, avoiding direct intervention there. Turkey already has technical teams and electronic-warfare systems in the kingdom to protect energy facilities.
This follows the first activation of the pact by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, who agreed to rapidly deploy military capabilities amid escalating attacks.
