🇷🇺 On May 6, 2025 the "Immortal Regiment" traditional commemorative event was held in Kuwait City. The memorial gathering devoted to the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic was organized by the Russian Compatriots Organization of Kuwait.

▫️Our citizens, graduates of Soviet / Russian universities and representatives of the Russian Embassy attended the event. Many children of different ages participated along with their parents showcasing intergenerational continuity. The memorial gathering was accompanied by musical and poetic classics of the war years, which made the atmosphere truly special.

▫️Our compatriots also had the chance to acquaint themselves with a thematic exhibition “Armed by love. Artists during the war”.

🎉7 мая в Посольстве России в Кувейте состоялось чествование 80-й годовщины Победы в Великой Отечественной войне. В театрализованном мероприятии приняли участие ученики средней школы при Посольстве.

▫️Были исполнены ставшие нетленной классикой проникновенные поэтические и музыкальные произведения военных лет. В детском исполнении эти произведения нашли самый живой отклик среди присутствовавших сотрудников и гостей Посольства. Среди них был Посол Киргизии в Кувейте Н.К.Токобаев.

▫️В особой, трогательной атмосфере прошло поминовение ушедших от нас ветеранов в формате виртуальной «Стены памяти». С поздравительным словом к участникам и гостям обратился Посол России в Кувейте В.Ф.Желтов.

في 7 مايو 2025 أقامت سفارة روسيا الاتحادية لدى دولة الكويت الحفل المسرحي تكريما للذكرى ال80 للنصر في الحرب الوطنية العظمى. وحضّر الحفل تلاميذ المدرسة الثانوية التابعة للسفارة. واستمتعوا ضيوفنا بما في ذلك سفير قرغيزيا لدى دولة الكويت سعادة السيد نورلان توكوباييف بعرض الأعمال الشعرية والموسيقية الشهيرة التي تم تأليفها أثناء الحرب.
كما أقيم معرض "جدار الذاكرة" حيث تم عرض صور الأبطال الذين سقطوا خلال الحرب.
وقد وجه سعادة السفير روسيا الاتحادية لدى دولة الكويت السيد فلاديمير كلمة التهنئة للمشاركين والضيوف

📝Article of the Russian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Mr. Vladimir Zheltov was published in “Al-Qabas” and “Kuwait Times” newspapers on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).

▫️For many people nowadays the events of that war are but a distant past. However, it left a deep mark in the historical memory of our nation. The war affected literally every Russian family.

🔹 Eighty years later we must not forget that it was the Soviet Union and its Red Army that made the key contribution to the defeat of Nazism. Three quarters of the military potential of Nazi Germany and subjugated European countries were pitted against the USSR. At the same time, fascists’ losses on the Eastern Front amounted to 78 percent of their total casualties. It is worth recalling that our allies opened the “second front” in Normandy only in June 1944 – less than a year before the end of World War II.
