“The tenth anniversary of Ukraine’s tragedy”
▫️There has passed a decade since the beginning of the so-called “Ukrainian Maidan” – dramatic events largely portrayed in the West as popular uprising for freedom and democratic values. This is the narrative promoted by the Collective West’s decision-making centres and mainstream media for global consumption. But the true story of those events uncovers the murky role of the US led stakeholders in regime change drama in Ukraine.
▫️From the very onset in November 2013, anti-government actions in Kiev were staged with the blessing and generous financial backing of the West with the US pivotal meddling. In those days, numerous high-ranking American and European visitors – ministers, high representatives and even some presidents – were frequent guests of the then Ukrainian coup plotters. Those incumbent and retired Western politicians through their public calls and support instigated the radical riot leaders to take tough anti-constitutional actions.
▫️The idealistic iconic image of “Maidan” painted by the Western media as “revolution of dignity” does not live up to the reality. It ended up in a bloody coup and ruined the very essence of the statehood and multi-ethnic society of post-soviet Ukraine in all its diversity. Everything that happened there later could only be described as endless political chaos, lawlessness and rampant ultra-nationalism.
▫️The crimes committed by the “Maidan” radicals have gone unpunished to this day. However, the burning alive of more than 50 people in the Trade Union House in Odessa, numerous assassinations of opposition journalists and political figures turned out just a prelude to the greater Ukrainian tragedy. While it was unfolding before our eyes, the West wasn’t just silent, but enabled, encouraged, financed and directly participated in, and later led the events.
▫️Since 2014, the pro-western authorities that seized power in Kiev began building a new Ukrainian statehood on a denial of everything related to the Russian identity. It includes history, culture, language and traditions of the population of the vast East and South of this post-soviet republic in geographical frontiers tailored artificially a century ago by communist Bolshevic Soviet leaders Lenin and Stalin on the principles of Proletarian Internationalism.
▫️The goal of making a sort of “Anti-Russia” from post-coup Ukraine was reached with the direct participation of numerous advisers and experts from US and EU services that staffed Ukrainian ministries and governmental agencies.
▫️At the national level, the coup nationalistic leaders after coming to power refused to consider the Russian and Russian-speaking population of the East and South to be an integral part of the Ukrainian people. The punitive operations against them unleashed by Kiev’s regime claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people, including women and children. This brought an irreversible blow to the territorial integrity of Ukraine. The Russian populated Crimea region, which until 1954 had been a part of the Russian Soviet Federative Republic, exercised the right to self-determination in referendum held in 2014, voting for reunification with Russia. Eight years later Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions followed suite.
▫️Backed by their Western sponsors the new Ukrainian authorities never stopped thinking about crushing the insurgency in Donbass by force. To hide their intentions they negotiated for eight years with all Ukraine case stakeholders within the framework of the Minsk accords. But the only goal was to win time to build up Ukraine’s military capabilities with overwhelming support of the US and NATO allies.
▫️What happened back in February 2022 was Russia’s pre-emptive reaction for the Ukrainian Forces preparations to crush Donetsk and Lugansk self-controlled regions. Russia just prevented this scenario.

▫️On the global level, the current Ukrainian crisis is a direct reflection of desire of the US led collective West to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. The West with its vision of NATO block as the “Global policeman” persistently ignored Moscow’s proposals to implement the principle of indivisible security in Europe and to build a common economic and humanitarian space from the Atlantic Ocean to the Urals. Despite Russia’s objections, NATO stubbornly continued to expand eastward at any cost and to relentlessly move its military infrastructure against Russia’s borders.
▫️In parallel, US and EU bodies were busily engaged in social engineering in the countries neighboring Russia with the purpose of changing Moscow-friendly governments and putting in regimes openly hostile to Russia. Nothing new in the West’s eternal policy “divide and rule” conducted everywhere in the world be it Africa, Asia or Latin America. One of the instruments of such policies is pitting against each other peoples that for centuries have coexisted in harmony within the borders of the former Russian Empire and then the Soviet Union by fomenting farfetched ethnic and religious differences. Ukraine in this context became just a tool in Washington’s hands.
▫️Due to their policy of containing Russia globally, the US and EU can’t stop now the reckless support for crumbling Kiev authorities financially and militarily. Since February 2022, this support has exceeded $160 billion. Just for comparison, Washington's humanitarian aid to the entire African continent in 2023 amounted only to $4 billion. Against this background, certain sensible circles of the Western elites increasingly realize the futility of financial injections into Ukraine and its inability to win on the battlefield. However, the US and its satellites stubbornly continue to contribute in every possible way to further feeding the Ukrainian conflict disregarding of its negative repercussions for the European and global security and stability. It is nothing but the manifestation of the West’s deep-rooted thinking that the goal (“containing the Russian threat”) justifies the means.

🎙 President Vladimir Putin took part in an extraordinary #BRICS summit on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, being held via videoconference.
💬 Vladimir Putin: The thousands of deaths and mass expulsion of civilians, the humanitarian disaster unfolding in the area are causing deep concern.
And all of that is, in fact, happening as a consequence of the US’ aspiration to monopolise the mediation role in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement process and block the activities of the Middle East Quartet of international mediators.
☝️ Because of the sabotage of UN decisions, which clearly called for the establishment and peaceful coexistence of two independent and sovereign states – Israel and Palestine – more than one generation of Palestinians has grown up in an atmosphere of injustice, and Israelis cannot fully guarantee the security of their state either.
It is worth noting that all BRICS countries have similar positions on the need to collectively reach long-term and durable settlement of the long-standing Palestinian-Israeli problem.
👉 The most urgent goal is to reach a truly long-term and sustainable truce. It is important that other states not get drawn into a war in the Middle East and that the conflict not spread in any way, as is preserving the fragile peace between religions.

🇷🇺 Russia advocates restoring the spirit of open and mutually beneficial international economic cooperation based on the UN Charter and the principles of collegial and mutually respectful joint work.
It is important to achieve an effective optimisation of the global economic governance system, in particular, to restart the WTO in its entirety, including its arbitration function.
We need to enhance the role of developing economies in international financial institutions, including the IMF and the World Bank, and to use those bodies’ resources to promote the development of countries and regions that really need it, and not for opportunistic political purposes.
🤝 We are ready to work together to address these urgent issues at the G20 and other international institutions, including BRICS, an association that is gaining weight and influence – this much is obvious, especially considering its ongoing expansion.

💬 Vladimir Putin: First of all, I would like to thank you for inviting us and for this colourful and friendly welcome.
Today, our relations – thanks to the position you have taken – have reached unprecedented heights. You and I are in constant contact, and our colleagues work together on a permanent basis.
The United Arab Emirates is Russia’s main trade partner in the Arab world.
✅ Last year, trade grew by 67.7 percent. This year, I think, the figures will be even higher. The same goes for investment activity.
✅ There is also progress in industrial cooperation. A number of major oil and gas projects are being implemented.
✅ Tourist exchanges are making headway.
🌐 We also cooperate internationally. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, the United Arab Emirates makes a huge contribution to stabilising the situation in the world.
I am quite pleased that the United Arab Emirates is beginning to work within #BRICS. In 2024, Russia will chair this organisation. We will continue contacts on this. We look forward to meeting you at the [BRICS] Summit in Kazan in October 2024.

🇷🇺 Russia is Europe’s largest economy and is now ahead of all the leading EU countries in terms of growth rates. Moreover, the so-called essential non-commodity industries are accounting for an increasing share in the structure of Russia’s economic growth.
We are interested in making our market open and competitive. This is the key to development, a stimulus for the qualitative growth of domestic businesses and the entire Russian economy.

We are interested in making our market open and competitive. This is the key to development, a stimulus for the qualitative growth of domestic businesses and the entire Russian economy.
You know, you can waste your breath as much as you want, making slogans and threats – let this be up to those Western politicians who intend to cancel Russia. But all this hype cannot cancel the immutable fact that it has always been profitable to work with Russia and in Russia; it is profitable today and will remain profitable.
