๐Ÿ“† #OTD, on October 2, India celebrates the 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a great son of the Indian nation and all humanity. Inspired by Leo Tolstoy's ideas on non-violent resistance to evil, Gandhi turned them into a powerful political teaching that changed the course of history.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Mahatma Gandhi's strength lay in his willingness to engage in dialogue with even the most difficult opponents. His methods of passive resistance, including the famous Salt Satyagraha, demonstrated the effectiveness of non-violent struggle against colonial oppression and led to India's independence.

๐ŸŒ Even today, his ideas on justice and dialogue continue to inspire people, and his legacy serves as a guiding light for the entire world.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณTwo monuments to honour the memory of this prominent Indian political and public figure have been installed in Moscow โ€” on Lomonosovsky Prospekt (unveiled in 1988) and on the premises of the Indian Embassy (2007).
