🇷🇺 The 17th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” is taking place in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan (May 12-17, 2026).
In accordance with the Executive Order of Russia's President Vladimir Putin, the Forum was granted federal status in 2023, becoming Russia’s flagship platform for dialogue and cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world.
🌐 Representatives of 103 countries have registered to attend KazanForum 2026.
The Forum’s business programme features 149 events across 21 thematic tracks. It will also host a number of international exhibitions, including the Russia-Islamic World cooperation expo, “Innovations. Investment. Infrastructure”, a real estate exhibition and conference, as well as the Kazan Halal Market trade fair.
The agenda also includes the forum of chambers of commerce and industry of #OIC countries, the Young Diplomats Forum, the Young Entrepreneurs Forum, meetings of intergovernmental commissions, bilateral conferences, festivals, culinary projects and sporting events – from the Business on Horseback race to the International Jockey Championship.
☝️ A special highlight of 2026 is Kazan’s status as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World. Cultural cooperation will be at the heart of the Forum’s humanitarian agenda, with Kazan hosting a Congress of Ministers of Culture from #OIC countries and the 15th Session of the ICESCO General Conference.
The #KazanForum will culminate in “Изге Болгар җыены” in Bolgar – a major event dedicated to the Day of the Official Adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.

Поездка российского лидера приурочена к 25-летию подписания основополагающего для межгосударственных связей Договора о добрососедстве, дружбе и сотрудничестве.

The visit is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation – a foundational document for interstate relations.
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will discuss current issues on the bilateral agenda, ways to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, and exchange views on key international and regional issues.
The Leaders will also take part in the official opening ceremony of the Years of Education of Russia and China for 2026-2027.
Following the talks, they are expected to sign a Joint Statement at the highest level, as well as a number of bilateral intergovernmental, interdepartmental and other documents.

🇷🇺🇵🇰 Посол отметил, что Москва и Исламабад являются активными участниками кардинальной трансформации системы международных отношений, в условиях которой отсутствует альтернатива объединению усилий России и Пакистана – ответственных и крупных игроков на пространстве Большой Евразии.

❗️Акцентировано внимание на том, что сегодня российско-пакистанские отношения достигли качественно нового уровня и характеризуются значительной активизацией многовекторного двустороннего диалога, в том числе между парламентами двух стран, а также профильными ведомствами в области внутренних дел, обороны, национальной безопасности, экономики и культуры.
Организаторами Конференции выступили Казанский (Приволжский) федеральный университет и пакистанский Федеральный университет искусств, науки и технологий урду в партнерстве с Национальным университетом наук и технологий и Консорциумом азиатских, тихоокеанских и евразийских исследований CAPES.
В мероприятии приняли участие более 20 сотрудников пакистанских вузов и исследовательских институтов, в том числе из Исламабада, Карачи, Лахора, Равалпинди и Окары.

✨️ Ambassador Albert P. Khorev delivered a video address to the participants of the Second Russian-Pakistani International Conference held in Kazan on the sidelines of the 17th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”.
🇷🇺🇵🇰 The Ambassador emphasized that Moscow and Islamabad are active participants in the ongoing fundamental transformation of international relations system, under which there is no alternative to combining efforts of Russia and Pakistan as responsible and influential actors across Greater Eurasia.

❗️He paid special attention to the fact that modern Russia-Pakistan relations have reached a qualitatively new level and are marked by a substantially intensified multifaceted bilateral dialogue, including between the parliaments of the two countries, as well as relevant authorities in the fields of internal affairs, defense, national security, economy, and culture.
The Conference was co-organized by Kazan Federal University and Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology in partnership with the National University of Sciences and Technology and the Consortium for Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies.
The event brought together more than 20 Pakistani researchers, representing universities and research institutes from across the country, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha.

📆 18 мая в Москве состоялось 16-е заседание российско-пакистанской Консультативной группы по стратегической стабильности под сопредседательством заместителя Министра иностранных дел Российской Федерации С.А.Рябкова и заместителя Министра иностранных дел Исламской Республики Пакистан Т.Х.Андраби.
Состоялся доверительный и предметный обмен мнениями по актуальным вопросам международной безопасности и глобальной стабильности, а также проблематике контроля над вооружениями, разоружения и нераспространения.
Подтверждена близость подходов России и Пакистана по большинству обсуждавшихся тем. Стороны подтвердили намерение продолжить такое взаимодействие и координацию на профильных международных площадках.
🤝 Достигнута договорённость об организации 17-го заседания Консультативной группы в следующем году в Исламабаде.

📆 On May 18, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Tahir Hussain Andrabi co-chaired the 16th meeting of the Russia-Pakistani Consultative Group on Strategic Stability in Moscow.
During a confident and detailed exchange of views the two Sides discussed topical issues of international security and global stability, as well as matters related to arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation.
The meeting confirmed the affinity of approaches of Russia and Pakistan on most of the discussed issues. The Sides confirmed their intention to continue such interaction and coordination at the relevant international fora.
🤝 It was agreed to hold the 17th meeting of the Consultative Group next year in Islamabad.

🇷🇺🇵🇰 At the outset, the Ambassador highlighted Russia’s international efforts to combat the glorification of Nazism, referring in particular to the thematic resolution annually adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with Pakistan’s consistent support.
Ambassador Khorev also underscored Russia’s peace initiatives in the context of the Ukrainian conflict, noting that the Kiev regime, backed by Western countries, continues to prolong hostilities. Particular attention was paid to the issue of forced mobilization in Ukraine, as well as to the growing Ukrainian corruption scandals involving members of Zelenskyy’s inner circle.
The Ambassador drew attention to the deteriorating crime situation in Ukraine and strongly condemned attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure, including the “TurkStream” and “Blue Stream” pipelines, stressing that such actions pose a threat to regional energy security.
❗️The briefing also addressed the hybrid war being waged by Western countries against Russia. The Ambassador stated that pseudo-legal mechanisms such as the so-called “Register of Damage for Ukraine” and the “Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine” constitute elements of anti-Russian legal aggression, adding that Russia would regard any accession to these initiatives by third countries as a hostile step.
Particular attention was devoted to challenging Western disinformation narratives concerning the alleged “mass atrocities in Bucha” and the “abduction of thousands of Ukrainian children.” Albert P. Khorev stressed that these accusations are unfounded and highlighted Russia’s efforts aimed at reuniting separated families on both sides of the Russian-Ukrainian border.
In conclusion, Ambassador Khorev reiterated that the so-called “Scythian gold” collection, transferred by the Netherlands to Ukraine, should be returned to Crimean museums.
