🇷🇺🇵🇰 May 1 marks 7️⃣8️⃣ years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our country and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
In the early years of #Pakistan’s independence, the Soviet Union provided significant economic assistance to the newly-established state, having supplied back then tens of thousands of tonnes of food grain.
In the 1970s, with Moscow’s expertise, Pakistan launched the development of its largest steel mill in Karachi, the Muzaffargarh; Multan-II and Guddu thermal power plants, and a radio station near Islamabad. The USSR also helped in setting up the Oil & Gas Development Company and in developing agriculture in the Islamic Republic.
🤝 Enhancing the mutually beneficial partnership with Pakistan is one of Russia’s foreign policy priorities in #SouthAsia.
The dialogue between Moscow and Islamabad is actively developing. The bilateral cooperation between our countries is based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s interests, overlapping positions on the majority of aspects on the international agenda.
Regular meetings are held by Russia-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation. In 2023, our mutual trade turnover between our countries exceeded $1 billion.
Today, Russian and Pakistani pharmaceutical companies are preparing to launch a joint project to produce insulin in Pakistan.
Cooperation in education is also expanding: for the 2025-2026 academic year, 152 Russian government grants have been given for Pakistani students to study at Russian universities. The number of students studying Russian at universities in Pakistan has been steadily increasing year-to-year.
🌐 Russia and Pakistan work closely together on international platforms, including the #UN and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (#SCO) which is a key element of the security and sustainable development system in #Eurasia.
Pakistan is also one of Russia’s key international partners in addressing the security challenges and threats.
We stand ready to continue working together to further strengthen ties between our nations and peoples, and to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, economic, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
🎉 We extend our warmest greetings to our Pakistani colleagues on this shared landmark day — the anniversary of diplomatic relations between our nations!

💬 С сожалением отмечаем, что развитие событий вокруг Ирана свидетельствует о пробуксовке переговорного процесса по урегулированию ситуации в зоне Персидского залива.
На этом фоне обращаемся с настоятельным призывом ко всем сторонам проявлять максимальную выдержку и сдержанность.
Необходимо не допустить рецидива насилия и нанесения ущерба гражданской инфраструктуре в результате ударов как по территории Ирана, так и соседних арабских государств.
В условиях сохраняющейся в регионе напряжённой обстановки любое действие может привести к возобновлению масштабной вооружённой конфронтации. В связи с этим важно сохранять бдительность в отношении возможных провокаций со стороны отдельных сил, которые стремятся сорвать мирные усилия и не допустить общей стабилизации обстановки.
Последовательно выступаем за решение имеющихся разногласий в данном стратегически важном районе мира политико-дипломатическими средствами при учёте интересов всех региональных государств.
❗️ Подтверждаем готовность России оказать необходимое содействие в достижении этой цели, в том числе на основе принципов и практических шагов, изложенных в нашей известной Концепции обеспечения коллективной безопасности в зоне Персидского залива.

💬 We regret to note that developments around Iran point to a stalling of the negotiating process aimed at settling the crisis in the Persian Gulf.
Against this backdrop, we urge all Sides to exercise maximum restraint and self-control.
It is essential to prevent any relapse into violence or damage to civilian infrastructure as a result of strikes against Iran or neighbouring Arab states.
Amid the persisting tensions in the region, any action could trigger a renewed large-scale armed confrontation. In this regard, it is important to remain vigilant against possible provocations by certain forces seeking to derail peace efforts and prevent the overall stabilisation of the situation.
We consistently advocate resolving existing differences in this strategically important region through political and diplomatic means, taking into account the interests of all regional states.
❗️ We reaffirm Russia’s readiness to provide the necessary assistance in achieving this goal, including on the basis of the principles and practical steps set out in our well-known Concept of Collective Security for the Persian Gulf.

Напомним, как развивались события.
4 мая 2026 года в ходе саммита Европейского политического сообщества в Ереване главарь киевского режима Зеленский позволил себе агрессивные и угрожающие заявления о намерении сорвать священный праздник День Победы в Москве террористическими актами. При этом присутствовали представители некоторых стран ЕС. Никто из них не одёрнул главаря киевского режима.
В этот же день Министерство обороны Российской Федерации опубликовало предупреждение, которое стало ответом на агрессивные намерения Зеленского. Подчеркну – это было сделано именно в качестве ответной меры.
Если в странах ЕС думают, что у них получится «замолчать» прозвучавшие публично угрозы, так сказать, «замести под ковёр» агрессивные заявления Зеленского, то они жестоко ошибаются.
Нам хорошо известно отношение коллективного западного меньшинства к 9 Мая: они планомерно уничтожают советское мемориальное наследие, эксгумируют прах советских воинов, переписывают и перевирают историю. Именно они, вооружая Украину, являются соучастниками преступных планов киевского режима.
Но в данном случае им не должен отказать инстинкт самосохранения.
Мы не выступаем с позиции агрессии, мы выступаем с позиции неизбежного ответа на агрессию.
☝️ Именно так следует воспринимать заявление Министерства обороны Российской Федерации от 4 мая и наши последующие шаги. Его точно не надо замалчивать. К нему надо отнестись очень и очень серьёзно.

Также российские дипломатические представительства за рубежом информируют об этом страны аккредитации и международные организации.

💬 The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation hereby announces that a Note Verbale has been sent to all diplomatic missions accredited to the Ministry, as well as to missions of international organisations. The note reads as follows:
Russian diplomatic missions abroad are also informing their host countries and international organisations of this.
Let us look back at how the events unfolded.
On May 4, during the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan, Kiev regime leader Zelensky went so far as to make aggressive and threatening statements about his intention to disrupt Moscow’s sacred Victory Day celebrations with terrorist attacks. He said this in the presence of representatives from a number of EU countries none of whom did anything to rein in the presumptuous Kiev regime leader.
On the same day, the Russian Defence Ministry issued a warning statement in response to Zelensky’s stated aggressive intentions. To reinforce my point, it was done in response to what Zelensky had said.
If EU countries believe they will be able to hush up those public threats and to sweep Zelensky’s aggressive statements under the carpet, they are gravely mistaken.
We are well aware of the collective Western minority’s attitude towards May 9. They are systematically destroying Soviet memorial legacy, exhuming the remains of Soviet soldiers, and rewriting and distorting history. As they continue to supply Ukraine with weapons, they are acting as accomplices in the criminal plans hatched by the Kiev regime.
However, the instinct for self-preservation should not fail them.
☝️ We are not acting from a position of aggression; we are acting from a position of an inevitable response to aggression.
This is how the statement issued by the Defence Ministry on May 4 and our subsequent steps should be interpreted. It must certainly not be hushed up. It must be taken very, very seriously.
