I knew an Attal, Hassan, a paramedic I accompanied in 2009 during that Israeli war. He and a volunteer medic, and our ambulance, came under Israeli sniper fire---during so-called "ceasefire" hours. Thankfully, he was "only" injured by a bullet to the leg.

He was a lovely person, but I lost touch with him.

Now, as with so many I knew in Gaza, I wonder if he is still alive.😔
